60 Hougang Secondary Red Cross Cadets and 2 teachers-in-charge participated in the Heritage Trail 'Fun on Foot Little India' on 24th July 2004.
Despite the rain, our cadets started the search for the different sites using the clues given on the map. The sites covered in little India includes places of worship such as Sri Veeramakaliamman temple, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Shree Lakshminarayan temple, Sakya Muni Buddha Gaya temple, Leong San See Buddhist Temple,Kampong kapor Methodist Church, Abdul Gafoor Mosque as well as interesting sites such as Little India Arcade, Tekka Market and the residence of Tan Teng Niah. We also had to stream through streets named after famous personalities such as Veerasamy Road, Campbell Lane and Dunlop street.
