A REVOLUTION IN ACTION
The result of this is that millions of people worldwide are becoming aware of the fact that we live in a closed system; planet earth. And that we are not living in a very healthy way.
The environment is being destroyed and millions of people are in dire poverty, starving and dying. Every year 7,000,000 people die as a direct result of unfair global social, economic and political systems. a growing diverse network is developing rapidly and it is challenging these unfair systems through artistic means.

Working toward the ideal of fun, sustainable, peaceful, existence sounds like a tall order but many of us believe that it is the only thing that makes sense in this world. Doing so is a chance to meet
amazing people who love life.
Many many people are organising themselves and taking direct action, doing what they feel is necessary to better this world; be that, living in trees to prevent the destruction of a forest, dancing on the streets with 1.5 million people at a free techno party for positive change, getting involved with youth groups, making music, taking over a building to highlight a companies unsustainable methods in the developing world, organising street parties and parades, shutting down WTO meetings by revolutionary artistic measures, taking over derelict buildings, fixing them up and turning them into amenities for a community. The list goes on, there is a whole lot of exciting things going on
having an ideal is one thing, but trying to work to turn that ideal into a reality is another thing. Why bother you might ask, most people who are involved with this revolution do so because they feel that actively participating for positive change affects the quality of their lives in a huge huge way.
The act of change happens in two ways, the big and the small. Protesting with the millions worldwide is one very important thing which actually brings about positive change but equally important are the things like how an individual earns their money, how they spend it, knowing where their food is from and how it got to the table, using less packaging, reducing waste, recycling, informing others, keep on learning.

Some very interesting projects that already exist are
-EASA (European architectural students assembly), a 21 year old system which started in Liverpool, whereby hundreds and sometimes thousands of architectural students gather every year form all over Europe to participate in a 2 week long workshop at a chosen destination, next years is on a Danish island and its theme is “sustainability”.
-ECOTOPIA, is a 14 year old European system for sustainable change. It is open to everyone and last year it was in forest on the banks of a lake in Ireland and more than 1500 people passed through the gates, the theme was “conflict resolution”, next years ECOTOPIA will happen in the Ukraine.
-MARCEL network, is a rapidly expanding revolutionary artistic network that works and experiments in both the real and virtual worlds. Artistic nodes are sprouting up around the planet
-the global network community, GNC, is a week long revolutionary artistic installation which will happen simultaneously in art galleries around the world at the same time. All gallery nodes will be connected via the internet and therefore become a one week long community. Art pieces focusing on the global social, economic, political systems will be on show, along with this there will be the LIVE side, whereby art galleries will act as nuclei for positive change, a place for people to meet, ideas to form, action to come from. GNC will run to coincide with a major WTO meeting. It is hoped that revolutionary change will happen through non violent artistic direct actions
