23/04/04 - MAYHEM IN ONE UTAMA

One Buck Short guitarist Rahul gave some innocent shoppers a bit of a shock, wandering around the One Utama shopping complex with his guitar, playing and jumping around like a man possessed. Little did they know that this was all part of the shoot for One Buck Short's upcoming video for their next single 'Punk Rock Picnic'.

The video follows each of the four members in separate public locations as they listen to a walkman and play their instruments, harassing the locals and genuinely being silly. Hafiz's parts were shot in Hartamas which included playing his bass guitar in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam, and running into mamak stalls screaming.

The shoot for the video will be completed at the end of the month and will be released by mid-May.

31/03/04 - foryourinfo.cjb.net IS FINALLY FRICKIN' UPDATED!

FYI Entertainment's web presence, www.foryourinfo.cjb.net has finally been updated after more than a year of utter laziness. We'd like to say that the reason behind our not updating the site is because we've been busy organizing gigs and getting our bands' butts in line, but the truth of the matter is, we've been lazy little buggers. Hopefully all that's gonna change, so voila, enjoy it while you can, kids!

We've tried to compile as much news as we can and put them below, so scroll down for a read of what's been happening in the land of FYI.

30/03/04 - SAIFUL & KHAI STRIPPED BARE AT PAUL'S PLACE

Two of our labels managers, Saiful (Y2k) & Khai (Y2k & Triple6Poser) we're NOT butt naked at Paul's Place. Rather, they were devoid of their masks and usual wall of distortion to cover their poor attempts at songwriting as they performed at Lemang Musics' 'For Our Own Pleasure (And Maybe Yours Too)', which happens every Tuesday night at Paul's Place in Uptown.

Those who came were treated to a spectacular performance by Soft Touch as they opened for Saiful's Japanese songs in the key of C and Khai's musings on the sexual proclivities of the alpha male and being dumped.

29/03/04 - Y2k TO RECORD ALBUM

Y2k are currently working out the songs for their upcoming full length album (at least, full length by punk rock standards). The album promises to be a mix of raw punk rock and various other genres as they see fit.

The band are unsure as yet whether any of their covers will be making it on the album due to legal reasons.

28/03/04 - UPCOMING FYI SINGLES

FYI will be releasing a whole new batch of singles (pending on whether the radio will play them or not) to unleash on the general public for their personal enjoyment.

The singles to be released are One Buck Short - 'Punk Rock Picnic', Side Circle - 'Bad News', Y2k - 'Alone', Triple 6 Poser - 'Welcome Back, Baby' & Throne Down - 'Lost In The Confusion of Colours'. Let's hope they get some airplay!

27/03/04 - LAST LEG OF THE CHRONIX TOUR

The last leg of the Chronix Tour was held at Blue Planet today featuring numerous bands from PJ & Ipoh and, representing KL, One Buck Short, Y2k, Frequency Cannon & Revenge of the Killer Germs. FYI would like to thank all those involved for their hard work and participation in organizing the event and all those who came to any of the three shows of the tour.

26/03/04 - TRIPLE 6 POSER DEMO EP RELEASED

Triple 6 Poser's self titled debut EP has been finished and will be available at all of their gigs. Recorded at Paul's Place, produced by the band and engineered by Khai, the four song EP features tracks 'Welcome Back, Baby', 'Another Lie', 'St. Salvador's Retreat' & 'London Town'.

21/03/04 - SPLASHING FUN COLOURS AT SUNWAY LAGOON

Sunway Lagoon hosted a ten day long arts & music fest at the Sunway Lagoon harbor, from the 13th till 21st. Numerous local bands played such as R.U.S.H., Qings & Kueens, Tempered Mental, Kohl, Niche and many others. Representing FYI were Side Circle, Triple 6 Poser, One Buck Short & Y2k.

08/03/04 - GOODBYE, HAFIZ!

Hafiz, bassist from One Buck Short since it's birth, has unfortunately left our beloved (to some) country to learn how to shoot cows from 1000 yards with an M 16. Yes, that's right, he's gone back to Singapore for his National Service and won't be back for two years.

However, all you One Buck Short fans have nothing to fear as a replacement has already been primed and chosen - close friend of Hafiz and the band, Izal. Check him out at any of their current shows.
