A Vow Before the Grave

- Tamahome looks around at the horrific site of all his little brothers and sisters' bodies on the floor. He spots his father....lifeless on a table. Yuiren, still alive, calls to Tama. He holds her in his arms and she says that she has been a very good girl. Miaka runs to Nuriko and screams at him to get Mits so that he can heal them. Nuriko, completely shocked, cannot move. Tama says he will never leave Yurien........then her little body goes lifeless in his arms. (this is so heartbreaking)

- Miaka and Nuriko get confronted by Suboshi. He is the one that killed Tama's family as revenge for the murder of his brother. Nuriko explains that Amiboshi wasn't murdered.....but Suboshi doesn't care and attacks with his Ryuuseisui (these yo-yo things). Nuriko dodges.

- Tama steps out of the house, glaring at Suboshi. His character starts to glow vividly and more defined then usual. This is the power that Taiisukun gave him and it comes out when he is really angry. He kicks Suboshi's ass!! When he is about to deliver the final blow to Suboshi's battered body, Soi, another Seiryuu seishi, saves him. Tama, crazy with anger, goes after them when they disappear.....but Nuriko calms him down.

- Tama goes back into the house, and finds a knife in Chuei's hand. Tama realizes that he tried to save them with it when Suboshi attacked them. As Tama is crying, with Chuei in his arms, images of his sibs and his dad surround Tama and they are all smiling. (VERY heartbreaking)

- Later, Miaka goes to see Tama, who is buring his family. You can see the tears streaming down his face.....he tells Miaka in a nice way that he wants to be alone. Upset, Miaka cries in Nuriko's arms.

- That night, Nuriko suggests that they go on the journey without Tama. But the next morning, Tama, who is now better, still wants to come along and they go back to Konan. He also gives Miaka a necklace that Yuiren made for her. Miaka vows to get the Shinzaho, even if it means going against Yui.

- The gang hears the news. Tasuki keeps Tama's spirits up by teasing him. (isn't he such a great guy?????) Hotohori, who cannot go on the journey, gives Miaka his holy sword. The gang leaves on the boat.

- Tama tells Miaka that he swore before his father's grave that he will protect her and live for her.

- Miaka gave Hoto a stuffed bear so that he can think of her everytime he sees it.

- Miaka's brother, who has been narrarating this whole time (there was just no need to mention it) notices a piece of Miaka's hair between the pages of the book. It's their link!!! The hair burns up, for some reason, and Miaka hears her brother's voice. But she 4gets about it and steals some food from Nuriko.

- Yui finds out that Miaka has left for the Shinzaho and decides to go after it herself. Yui vows to fight Miaka till the end.
