| Maintanance Changing plugs will be impossible if you have anything but slim hands. Original chain lasted to the 23,000km mark but didn't end up changing until a pathetic 5,000kms later- What a difference sprockets still in good condition. General reliability has been very good (something I would expect with a newer bike). Things I can see will cause a problem in the future: Soft steel brackets that hold the radiator. Bottom of fairing already getting bashed up from going over curbs and hitting rocks when coming out of the woods (oops). I'm no mechanic so I let the valve workto the professionals. After 35,000kms my nasty little bike had worn 3 of it's intake valves, although I was stuuuupid enough to know it was overdue for a tune-up. I decided to have all the guide seals replaced as they were quite brittle. Figured it was a good time to do a 3 angle valve job on the seats too. Number two cylinder was blowing a bit of oil so I decided to have the rings replaced as well. Don't get any water in the tank! It will confuse the hell out of you as you try try to figure out why the carbuureation is so fucked- Use octane boost to evaporate water. Oil consuption is minimal and I haven't seen it blow anything nasty from the can (me, on the other hand)! |
