Places to find postcards

How to buy cheaper postcards:
If you can find a postcard publisher or factory that is willing to sell you cards, this can be a great way to save on the costs of your cards. You may have to purchase a large amount of cards but the cost per card will be cheaper. Not to mention the fact that you don't have to travel all over hunting for cards.

Places where you can find postcards:
Here is a list of places that you may want to check for potential card purchasing. You may want to do an online search of these types of places as well.

  • National Parks/Monuments/Battlefields/Historic Sites(USA)
  • Museums
  • Zoos/Aquariums
  • Drug Stores
  • Wal-Mart / K-mart
  • Tourist Traps
  • Truck Stops/Gas Stations
  • Gift Shops and Bookstores
  • Famous Homes

  • Military Bases at the Post exchanges, they always have tons of them
  • Old friends who collect every thing! but are not post card traders themselves
  • Students and parents of students
  • Join postcard email groups and get in on the 4 and 10 card swaps

Not all of these places always have postcards, but many do. Don't hesitate to call local stores and gift shops in your area to inquire about postcards. Sometimes you will find them in the most unexpected places. If you don't see cards for sale, ask. Many shop managers aren't aware that collectors are looking for cards, so we can all advertise our hobby by asking for postcards.
