The game is located in Marquesas island chain of French Polynesia, on an island called Nuku Hiva, 16 Americans are forced to band together and carve out a new existence. In this inhospitable land, with its malaria-bearing insects and marauding predators, the Survivors must form a cooperative society, building shelter, gathering and catching food, and participating in Challenges for rewards. Winners of these Challenges will be rewarded with things that make life in Africa more bearable; those who fail must do without. They will then form the infamous Tribal Council, where you will openly debate the group dynamics of the previous days. The council ends with a secret ballot in which each of you votes one of your fellow tribemates out. The person with the most votes against him/her must leave immediately and is eliminated from the contest.Weeks of surviving the elements and outlasting the other tribemates, but it all comes down to one - The Ultimate Survivor, winner of 1 million dollars!

Episode 1: Back To The Beach 02.28.02
  • Rotu Tribe - Paschal started the first whine when he complained about the paddle to shore. In his own word, "they are making 0 progress". But the struggle actually brought the tribe together when they finally worked as one singing and counting in unison. As they arrived in their camp site, Tammy was relieved "We were thrilled, we made it the first part of the way.", she said. Opening the crate, they were surprised to find out there's no food in it. They found their water hole or "water spa" (as Neleh said). It was indeed a nice water source: an exotic waterfalls. The Rotu tribe was thrilled as they jumped in the water (plus points for Gabriel with his awesome jump). After gathering water, the tribe faced the problem of making fire again but Kathy is eager to make one as she will ty to make fire till dark. But this attitude dismayed others as John and Kathy argued about it. "Of course we know we need to start fire, but to have someone pushing you like Kathy did really started to become grating.", John said. With the help of the frustration, they finally made fire and Kathy suddenly became warm and friendly.
  • Maraamu tribe - Maramu's arrival is kinda like the Rotu but with a little more spark as Sarah started to catch the ire of Sean. He said that Sarah's arrival is like Cleopatra, just sitting around doing nothing (well atleast she's shouting "paddle and kick"). Sean revealed his religious side when he prayed and thanked God for guiding them. Hunter suddenly showed his leader side when he started to lead the tribe in making fire, gathering food, and building shelter. At night time, Sarah started flaunting her beautiful body and flirted to Rob. This was noticed by other tribe members "Sarah has a very cute body and paid a lot for it, and if you have it, of course flaunt it.", said Vecepia and Gina also stated that flirting actually begun that night. The enxt day, its chicken chasing time as Rob tried to chase a chicken unsuccessfully. This pissed Hunter off as he think other more important chores needs to be done besides chasing chickens. He then lectured Rob about it and Rob agreed. "I realize that I am going to have to work to stay in the group now and that this is essentially going to be my fate.", he said.
  • Immunity Challenge - the immunity challenge is called "Outrigger Fire Quest". Carrying an outrigger canoe outfitted with two torches, the tribes had to swim with the canoe out into the ocean, light the torches from a fire cauldron, then race back to shore while lighting a series of torches along the way. The first tribe to have successfully lit all the torches and cross the finish line would win. The Maraamu tribe had an early lead going to the ocean but Rotu catched up as Maraamu's torch fell in the water (thanks to Sarah and a little help from Sean). Rotu finally gained a huge lead enough for them to win the first immunity.
  • Pre-Tribal Council - Peter revealed that his strategy is to vote the weakest out first and persuaded others to do the same. This causes trouble as some tribe members dont like the idea. "I will vote the way I wanted to", said Gina. "I know I'm not weak! Is it because I'm a woman? Overweight? They're talking like they want me to go.", said Patricia. Sean's strategy is to vote the person who don't contribute much to the tribe and to him that's Sarah. Gina openly stated that the three person she would most likely vote for is Peter, Patricia, and Sarah.
  • Tribal Council - this proved to be a different first tribal counci for its not a unanimous vote. Peter voted for Patricia, Sean and vecepia voted for Sarah, and finally Peter became the first one off the island by Gina, Hunter, Sarah, Patricia, and Rob's votes.
