The half-assed Marian Gaborik story
"The Man" was born in Trencin, Czechoslovakia.  His native country separated in 1993 while he lived on the Slovakia side.  He grew up playing hockey in Trencin and played in the Slovak major league while a teenager.  He was drafted by the NHL's Minnesota Wild in 2000 as an 18 year-old and as the team's first ever entry draft pick.  He is currently engaged and lives in Minnesota, USA.  He spends the offseason in Trencin.

Completely random and unorganized facts about Marian Gaborik:
-Marian has already made more money than Kyle will in his whole life.  Marian recently completed a 3 year deal worth about 3.2 million, with about an additional $6.5 million or so for performance bonuses, which we know he would get.
-Tim has already made more money than Marian will in his whole life.
-Marian likes to play tennis and soccer in the off-season.
-He is quoted as saying "Speed is my game, I need to be scoring, passing, and creating [to be effective]."
-His previous team was called Dukla Trencin of the Slovakian league.
