It is best to glaze the inside
of pots first so that any spills onto the outer surface can be removed
before the outside is glazed. Glaze can be poured inside, swirled around,
and then poured out again, leaving an inner coating of glaze. |
The whole pot can be immersed. If the pot is
held level, air will be trapped inside, thus preventing glaze from reaching
the inside. This allows you to apply one glaze on the inside by pouring,
and a different one on the outside by dipping without the two mixing. |
Glaze can be poured over a pot
to cover either the whole surface or particular sections of it. Pouring
glazes produces specific effects, which can be controlled with practice. |
