The other day I was sitting in a restaurant and I heard some bible humping Christian saying, "I heard Pepsi printed cans with the whole Pledge of Allegiance on it except the words under God." She followed that with "They did it to not offend anyone but I AM OFFENDED." This made me laugh cuz I know the truth. DR. PEPPER printed cans after the Sept. 11th attacks with the statue of liberty and the words "One nation... indivisible" thus omitting the word under God consequently. Dr. Pepper's point was not to "not offend anyone as believed but to keep the word one nation indivisible together to show strength." But you know how rumors are- first a girl is pregnant, then she's slept with the whole town, then its her fiftieth kid, then she’s the mother of GOD. They spread and they get bigger and they change names. Poor Pepsi never had anything to do with it, yet they are under attacks from bible humpin fanatics 2 years later for something they never did.
Another one that gets me is, forward this to all your friends and my kids with cancer will get a nickel for every friend you pester. You do know this is fake right? That, and the gift certificate for forwarding to friends? Oh and the one that says something cool will pop up on your screen? All as fake as Britney’s implants and Christina’s hair.
Or the rumor about Typhoid Mary? We instantly get some vision of a lady who breathed on innocent people on the streets to infect them. Truth was she didn't. She kept working as a cook after instructed not to, and she knew she had Typhoid, but it wasn't more than 100 people, and it was probably because she didn't know how to do anything but cook.
What else gets me? That rumor that Congressman never pay into Social Security and they draw large salaries until they die when they retire. Nope, true, they don't get social security, they pay into a different pension plan and they do get a good sum, but nothing as close to what they make now, or even remotely close to what the email accused. FALSE FALSE FALSE
