AL-WAZANI SPRING West of Ghajjar village there is located a beautiful wady , which separaties Syrial from Lebanon. This wady was the real border before the Israely army retreated from south Lebanon. One of the most beuatiful places in the wady is the Alwazani Spring . This spring is the main source of water for the village and even to the whole area. Alhatzbany River which flows from lebanon only in wintter days, joins the water of the spring and continues flowing until it joins Banias and Dan rivers which become the Jordan River. There are two pumps, which draw water to the village from the spring. Nowadays both of the two pumpes are on the Lebanies side and it's difficult to reach them when there is a problem. One of the pumpes was built by the Syrian army in the 1950's.Israel occupied the village and the spring in 1967 in the 6th of June. |
