Dear Colleagues,

  Upon demand, the Global Awareness Institute (GAI) hosts summer Professional
  Development Seminars in the Amazon.  I would like to invite you to take advantage of this
  unique faculty/professional development opportunity.  The title of the program is
Medicinal
  Plants and Cultures of the Amazon
.  The program combines seminars with the world’s
  leading scientists and practitioners in the field of tropical medicinal plants and natural
  medicine with a 320-mile boat excursion on the Amazon.The river excursion includes visits to
  three indigenous tribes and to the gallery and home of world-renowned artist, Francisco
  Grippa. 

  You will lodge at the GAI Selva jungle reserve outside Iquitos, Peru, travelling daily by
  motorized canoe for seminars  and other activities in the city.  

  The cost of the Professional Development Seminar in the Amazon is $2,500.  Included
  are round trip flights Lima-Iquitos, lodging on the GAI reserve, breakfast and evening meals
  at the reserve, scheduled excursions, tuition for seminars, and round trip boat fare from 
  Iquitos to Pevas.  Not included are out-of-pocket expenses, meals while off the reserve, and
  unscheduled or optional excursions.

  An optional one-week guided tour of Cuzco/Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas
  is available for an additional fee.  Included in this tour are round trip air Lima-Cuzco, all
  lodging, all ground transportation, entrance to Machu-Picchu ruins, and a personal guide
  24/7.

  There is no application fee, but a non-refundable deposit of $500 is due by February 15.
  Additional payments of $1,000 each are due on March 15 and April 15.
