      Mr. Frens was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Fox Lake, the son of Henry and Mary (Van Buren) Frens. He married Josie Harmsen May 29, 1941, in the Alto Reformed Church. She preceded him in daeth in 1978. He then married Christine Vande Kamp. He was a lineman for Waupun Public Utilities for many years, retiring in 1981. He was member of Emmanuel Reformed Church and also served in the US Army during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater 3 years.
      He is survived by his wife, Christine, Waupun; one daughter, Sandy (Kenneth) Radke, Beaver Dam; one son, Gary Frens, Beaver Dam; four grandchildren; one brother, Harry (Grace) Frens, Waupun; and one sister, Johanna (Clarence) Vander Hoek, Sheboygan.
      He was preceded in death by his first wife, two brothers, one sister and his parents.
      Funeral services were held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun, Rev. Robert Hekhuis officiating. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton. Vistation was held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Kohls Funeral Home, Waupun, and at the church on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to the hour of service.

Mrs. James M. (Josie) Frens, 57 400 Grandview Ave., Waupun, died Saturday evening at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Alto, the daughter of Barney and Jenny Boerson Harmsen. On May 29, 1941, she was married to James M. Frens at her parents home. Folowing their marriage, the couplemoved to Waupun where they lived all their married life.
Mrs. Frens was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Waupun where she taught Sunday School as well as being supervisor of the primary department for several years.
Mrs. Frens is survived by; her widower; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Sandy) Radke, Beaver Dam; one son, Gary Frens, Waupun; one sister, Mrs. Robert McDowell Sr., Waupun; five brothers, Henry and Arthur, rural of Waupun; Harry, rural Waupun; Bernard, Brandon; and John, Alto; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Frens were held Tuesday, March 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Reformed Church. The Rev. George Chermak officiated. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.
Visitation was held at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from noon until time of services.
