There are songs to be sung.
Rhythms to be felt.  Talents to be discovered.
Music is one of my biggest passions.
I started playing oboe when I was 8, becoming interested in the instrument because it was different and falling in love with it because of the music and expression it brought out in me.  Feelings that I can never emote in words find their outlet when I play.  I've had the most rewarding experiences and met the most incredible people, musicians or not, through oboe.
I was planning on just being a music minor when I went to college but I tried out the major and fell in love with my professors and fellow music majors.  Even when I am so stressed on account of  all the time put into ensembles and practicing, I know I wouldn't be happy, I wouldn't be me, if I wasn't so involved.
Music makes memories
to fill the soul.
This is me, at age 10, playing at the 4th grade Heritage Day (hence my dirndle).  I can see the beginning of all my fingering/tendonitis problems, hehe.
Discover music within  yourself.
I love Joni Mitchell!!!
I'm going to camp out on the land
I'm going to try an' set my soul free

We are stardust
We are golden
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden

Then can I walk beside you
I have come here to lose the smog
And I feel to be a cog in something turning
Well maybe it is just the time of year
Or maybe it's the time of man
I don't know who I am
But you know life is for learning
--Woodstock
And the sun poured in like butterscotch
And stuck to all my senses

Oh won't you stay, we'll put on the day
And we'll talk in present tenses

When the curtain closes
And the rainbow runs away
I will bring you incense
Owls by night
By candlelight
By jewel-light
If only you will stay

Chelsea Morning
I wish I had a river I could skate away on
Oh, I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
--
River
Funny day, looking for laughter and finding it there
Sunny day, braiding wild flowers and leaves in my hair
Picked up a pencil and wrote "I love you" in my finest hand
Wanted to send it, but I don't know where I stand
...

Crickets call, courting their ladies in star-dappled green
Thickets tall, until the morning comes up like a dream
All muted and misty, so drowsy now I'll take what sleep I can
I know that I miss you, but I don't know where I stand
I know that I miss you, but I don't know where I stand
--
I Don't Know Where I Stand
Oh, you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet

Oh, I could drink a case of you darling
Still I'd be on my feet
oh I would still be on my feet
--A Case of You
