The Holodeck After many conversations with friends, I decided to check out this new and wonderful invention called the “Holodeck”. I had heard most of the information from a friend. She seemed to have had a very nice time, and after more and more of my friends started spending a lot of time at it, I decided if I didn’t try it out, I would deeply regret it. I entered through the archway to the building, checked in for my hour-long appointment, and then entered the large dome. It was just an empty room. “How is this so amazing?” I thought to myself, and then I saw the control panel at the other end of the dome. I walked over to it, and placed in my empty disc. My friend suggested I save my experience. Then there came an automated voice through speakers in the panel. “Welcome to the Holodeck, please enter your desired image” Thinking, I put my hands on the keyboard and typed in a few key words: MIDDLE EARTH, MIRKWOOD, and finally, LEGOLAS. As soon as I pushed enter, a whirring sound started to take over the dome, echoing loudly for a few minutes. I became so loud I put my hands over my ears and closed my eyes. Then it stopped abruptly. I opened my eyes and was amazed at what I saw. I saw Mirkwood, and it was huge! I could smell the fresh air and the pine trees, I could feel the grass under my feet, I saw the trees and streams. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life. “This can’t be real,” I thought to myself. “This is amazing,” I said with a smile on my face. Then, I looked to my left, and I saw a beautiful gown laid out on a rock. Looking at myself, I noticed that my attire was not quite appropriate for Middle Earth. You don’t see many women in Middle Earth wearing jeans and a lace top. So I took off my clothes and put on the dress. It was a beautiful velvet gown, green with gold trim, and a perfect fit. It was also very low cut in the chest, and I felt a little uncomfortable showing so much cleavage, but no one else was around, so it was all right. Amazed with everything, I walked down to the stream, and I came to a picnic laid out on the ground. There was no one at the picnic, but I saw a little sign sitting on the blanket. It read: “ Galadrine, a little treat from your beloved.” I was very confused with this… my beloved? Finally, I decided to sit down at the picnic, seeing as it was for me. There were so many different kinds of food there. One that I recognized right away was the lembas. I looked just like it did in the movie. I picked up a piece and took a small bite. It tasted so wonderful, better than anything I had ever eaten. I took another bite, and suddenly I heard the sound of breathing behind me. I turned around and saw Legolas! He was smiling at me. “Hello Galadrine. I see you’ve found my gifts.” I blushed, looking at the dress and the picnic. I knew I put LEGOLAS down as a key word, but I didn’t think he’d know who I was! “Legolas, you did all of this? For me?” I couldn’t take my eyes off of him as I spoke. “Of course. I wanted you to know that I love you.” He said as he sat down next to me. I was very confused. “But we’ve never met before…” He took my hand in his, and spoke in a soft voice. “But we have met before. We have spent many lives together Galadrine.” “But, none of this is real…” I said softly. He looked into my eyes, “It is real. I wanted us to be reunited again, and this was the only way I could get you to come to me.” Believing what was happening did not come easily at that time, but somehow, I started to believe him. And at his touch, memories of past lives with Legolas came flooding into my mind. “But you are and elf Legolas, and I am human. How can this be?” He caressed my hand softly, “You are Elven kind on the inside Galadrine. When you were reborn into the world you now live in, your Elven qualities were hidden inside of you. Now that you’re here, they can come out again.” He leaned in and kissed me. I felt faint at first, still not able to believe what was happening, but then I sank into his sweet kisses, his arms wrapped around me. He released his lips from mine and I looked into his beautiful blue eyes. He smiled at me, and took off his cloak, laying it softly on the ground. “I can help you bring out your true self Galadrine,” He said, coming close to me. He laid me down on the ground, and started to untie my dress. I laid there with my breasts exposed to him, but I felt no discomfort. A wetness developed between my thighs, and I wanted him, more than anything else. He started to kiss my left breast, and I began to unfasten the buckles of his armor. I sat his quiver down next to his cloak, and he stood up and took off his shirt. I let my hands run over every curve of his body, feeling his chest and arm muscles. He unfastened his belt and put it on the ground. I let my hands wander to his pants, brushing against his newly aroused manhood. He stood up and quickly slid out of his pants, and I lay there, amazed, by his perfect naked body. Legolas lay back down and slipped my gown off of me. I felt the cool grass on my back, and he lay down on. I could feel his hard manhood against my thigh as he kissed me, and I wanted him inside of me. I felt his aroused member with my hand; he let out a moan of pleasure at my touch, and I guided him in to me. I moaned as we started to move at a slow and steady rhythm. He kissed my neck and rubbed my breasts. I clung to his back, as our rhythm got harder and faster. As all of this was happening, I felt a change in me. I can’t explain it, but I knew my body was changing. My hearing became more sensitive, and I became much more aware of my surroundings. Our pace quickened, and as if we were one, we climaxed together. We lay there, sweat pouring from our bodies, and I let him stay in me for a while. I looked deep into his eyes, they seemed to be bluer then they were before. He spoke to me, only this time in Elvish. “Galadrine, Amin mela lle( Galadrine, I love you)” He released from me, and kissed me softly, my lips were full and red. He stood and helped me up, leading me over to the water. “Look at yourself Galadrine” he whispered softly into my ear. I looked down in the water, and I saw myself glowing. My aura radiating from my body. I saw my ears; they had become the ears of an Elf. Standing there, I saw my Elven self, and I felt right. “Legolas, look at me!” I said, smiling. He took my hand in his, “How do you feel Galadrine?” I looked deep into his eyes, “I feel…wonderful! I can hear the sounds of birds chirping from miles away! I can see things that a normal woman would never be able to see from this distance. I feel more alive!” He smiled and grabbed my hand. He pulled me in and kissed me passionately. “You can stay here with me Galadrine, and we can travel Middle Earth together. We can live together for all eternity, but it means you will have to leave your old life behind you.” I thought of the life I had back in California, and decided that I would be much happier in Middle Earth, with my beloved Legolas. I did not want to give up seeing this world again. “I want to stay here with you.” I said softly. “Then you will have to self-destruct the program, while you are still inside of it. Your time in the Holodeck is almost up Galadrine, see?” I looked up and saw the other end of the Holodeck. The world of Middle Earth was disappearing. I saw the control panel, and I knew what I had to do. I ran to the panel and pressed “SELF DESTRUCT” A voice came over the Holodeck loudspeakers. “WARNING! PROGRAM WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IN TWO MINUTES. PLEASE EXIT THE HOLODECK.” I wanted to leave something behind, so no one would worry about me. So I left behind, the clothes I was wearing when I entered the Holodeck, and I quickly wrote a note on a leaf with a pen I had carried in my pants: “I will miss you all, but I am staying in Middle Earth with Legolas, forever. ~Galadrine~” I left the clothes and the note on the control panel, and I ran back to Legolas. “Galadrine, come with me, we will be safe from the destruction in this cave.” We ran to the cave, and Legolas held me in his arms. The voice came over the loudspeaker again. “HOLODECK WILL SELF-DESTRUCT IN 5…4…3…2…1” There was a loud BOOM and I closed my eyes. When I opened them again, Legolas was looking down at me with a smile. “You’ve done it Galadrine. Now we can be together, forever.” We walked outside the cave, and I looked at Middle Earth in all of its glory, and this time, I knew it was real. I stood out in the sun, and I smiled. Legolas and I went back to the picnic blanket and put on our clothes. Legolas grabbed my hand. “Galadrine, you will be my queen of Mirkwood. Come; let us go to the kingdom. We will travel, and I will show you all of Middle Earth. We will go to Gondor and Rivendell, and you will meet my friends, Aragorn, Gimli and the others.” We walked in the forest, hand in hand, and we spent all of eternity together, in Middle Earth. Helm’s Deep The air was cold against his skin, and his breath came out in white wisps of steam as he exhaled. He was breathing heavily as his heart kept beating faster and faster. A fellow elf put a hand on his shoulder and spoke softly, so no one else could hear. “Alcarë, are you alright?” Alcarë sighed, “I’m as well as I can be…considering the circumstances…” He smiled slightly, but it soon faded as his ears perked up. He looked around at the other elves. He knew they could hear it was well, though the men could not. It was the sound of thousands of footsteps. “They’re not far, only about two miles at the most,” the other elf said, “Time is short.” Alcarë looked out towards where the sound was coming from. It was too dark and misty, otherwise he would have been able to see the army of Urukai coming in their direction. He turned and looked at the elves and men around him. He could see the fear and doubt in their eyes. He wondered if they could see the same doubt and fear in his eyes. Next to him, there stood a young boy handling a sword much too large for him. He couldn’t have been older than fourteen. Alcarë shook his head and whispered to himself, “This boy is much too young for battle.” It saddened him to see so many young boys made to fight in this war. They would all probably die. It was a terrible thought, but he knew that he could not deny the truth of the situation. In his mind, he could see the faces of the mothers, down in the glittering caves. The feeling of distress overwhelming for them, and their tears flowed eternally. Alcarë’s ears perked up once more, as did the ears of all the other elves. The sounds of the Urukai’s steps were much closer. They were so much closer now that even the men could hear it. He heard the young boy make a small whimpering noise. “What is that noise?” the young boy asked, his voice quivering. Alcarë put a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “That is the sound of ten thousand Urukai, marching towards Helm’s Deep.” He felt the boy shiver. “What is your name boy?” Alcarë asked. “Caranthir, son of Sorenthir, “ the boy said softly. Alcarë tightened his grip on the boys shoulder in a reassuring manor. “Misery loves company, Caranthir. Do not lose hope, for we need to stay strong souls if we are to win this battle.” Caranthir smiled at Alcarë and the two turned back towards the sounds of the marching Urukai. In the distance, everyone could see the slight glimmer of torches, breaking through the mist. There were thousands of them. Around the keep, Alcarë could hear Aragorn shouting orders for the men and elves. “Show them no mercy! For they shall show you none” Aragorn shouted. His voice was full of intensity and courage. Alcarë envied Aragorn. “He truly is the lost king, “Alcarë though to himself. He looked out towards the torches and stared. They were moving forward at a very quick pace. Everyone stood in complete silence for the next few moments. Alcarë could tell that the men around him were lost in though, just as he was. Suddenly, small drops of rain began to fall, and before long, it was pouring. The army of Urukai had now approached the Keep and was standing in one large mass at the Keep’s wall, growling. All of the archers got ready to fire, including Alcarë. All were ready to fire on command. Suddenly, the Urukai began beating their spears upon the ground. Hard and loudly, they began to taunt the men and elves that stood up at the Keep. Alcarë closed his eyes and quickly prepared himself. The Urukai’s taunting continued to ring through everyone’s ears until someone at the Keep suddenly let out a shot. Alcarë couldn’t see who let out the arrow, but it hit an Urukai in the neck. The Urukai army, went silent as they watched one of their soldiers fall to the ground dead. One of the Uruks let out a loud cry. The battle had begun. Aragorn gave out the command for all of the archers to fire. Alcarë let out a shot and watched as his arrow and the arrows of the others took down many Urukai. He continued to fire as quickly as possible. The battle seemed to be going their way, and as Alcarë shot down more and more of the enemy, he began to feel hope. But his hope diminished when he saw the many ladders rise up to the Keep. He pulled out his sword. “Let them come!” At that moment, the Urukai came pouring over the wall of the Keep. Alcarë took his sword to the closest Urukai, slicing off his head. He continued to charge at all of the other Urukai that crossed his path. The battle raged pm and soon Alcarë was covered in blood, both his own and the blood of his enemies. He had been caught off guard and was cut on his left arm by and Urukai. He fought on, and was soon distracted by many Urukai approaching the gate to the Keep. They were walking close together and were covering themselves with their shields. Alcarë and many others took their bows and began to shoot at them. They killed many of the shielded Urukai, but when the remaining Uruks uncovered their battering ram, Alcarë knew they were all in trouble. “Take them down, they are going to break down the gate!” he cried loudly. Many of the men braced the gate as the Urukai used all of their force to break it down. Men and small boys threw small boulders at the Urukai and successfully took some out. But it was too much for the men, and soon the wood of the gate began to break away, and the Urukai prepared to enter the Keep. Alcarë continued to shoot at the Urukai, trying to keep them from entering, but their numbers were too many and many of the archers were running out of arrows. Alcarë feared the worst until he saw Aragorn and Gimli jump into the mass of Urukai and fight them while the men blocked the now broken gate with pieces of wood. Legolas tossed some rope to Aragorn and Gimli to pull them up. Alcarë rushed to help. The gate was now temporarily fixed, but all of those events had distracted the man and elves from the Urukai who were placing great metal containers where the water drained from the Keep. “What are those?” Alcarë thought to himself. He then saw and Urukai soldier running towards the grate with a torch. “Legolas! Take him down!” Aragorn screamed loudly. Legolas shot at the Urukai as quickly as he could, but the orc had amazing endurance and continued to run through the crowed that was the enemy. He ran and jumped into the pile of metal and there was a great explosion. Alcarë and many of the others were thrust into the air by the blast. He landed about fifty feet from where he was originally standing and his head hit the ground hard. The last thing he saw were hundred of Urukai running through the gap in the wall that the blast had created. Then everything went black. When Alcarë awoke, he could see the Urukai running around him, making their way through the Keep. One of them stepped on Alcarë’s injured arm, and he screamed in pain. The Urukai stopped and growled down at Alcarë. He stepped on Alcarë’s arm again and dug his heal into the wound. Alcarë cried in pain, but then he tripped the Urukai and stood up, trying to hold his pain back. The Urukai on the ground smiled evilly, “So full of energy suddenly?” Alcarë gave no response, but only pulled out his sword, and before the Urukai could stand up to defend himself, Alcarë sliced off his head. “Full of energy.” Alcarë said, and then he walked through the piles of the dead and fought the Urukai in his path. Suddenly, the sound of the Hornburg was heard throughout the Keep. It’s low sound billowed and caught the attention of everyone on both sides. Alcarë looked up towards the Keep where he saw King Theoden riding out with Legolas, Aragorn and King Theoden’s men. They rode out of the entrance to the Keep and were taking down Urukai as they went. Alcarë smiled, but a blade through his already injured left arm soon overcame it. He cried out in pain and turned to see an Urukai laughing. “It is time to die filthy elf, your leaders have deserted you.” The Uruk laughed again. Alcarë took his sword and swung it. The Uruk blocked it easily and Alcarë could not get a full blow in without the use of his left arm. The Uruk raised his sword, and prepared to bring it down on Alcarë’s head. But suddenly the Uruk cried out and fell down dead. Alcarë looked at the person who had just saved his life and smiled. “Thank you Caranthir,” Alcarë said softly. “Alcarë! Look to the East!” Alcarë turned and saw Gandalf at the top of the hill, valiant, sitting on top of Shadowfax. He saw another man, and soon, two thousand men were charging down the hill and the Urukai. All of the men and elves who were still alive in Helm’s Deep, seemed to have a new surge of energy running through them. And soon the men and elves at the Keep had run off the remaining Urukai. Everyone watched as the enemy retreated, ad the Urukai ran into a forest that was not there the night before. Soon, all could hear the sounds of moving branches and screaming Urukai. The battle of Helm’s Deep had been won, but many had been lost. Knowing that it was finally over, pain overtook Alcarë once more and he fell to the ground, and soon lost consciousness. When he opened his eyes again, he was in a bed, his arm in a sling. Caranthir was sitting by his side, a bandage on his head. Alcarë smiled. “I am glad to see that you are alive.” Alcarë said, Caranthir shrugged shi shoulders. “What is wrong Caranthir?” Alcarë put a hand on his shoulder, Caranthir looked at the ground. “I watched so many of my friends die, it almost feels like we lost.” Alcarë sat up as best as he could and looked at Caranthir. “Caranthir, your friends did not die in vein, they have helped us all in this chapter of the war, and their spirits will be welcomed by the Gods, where they can rest in peace.” The two looked at each other and Caranthir smiled. “I’m glad you lived Alcarë” he said. “As am I Caranthir, but I cannot stay in this bed any longer. I must speak with Haldir and get my new orders.” Caranthir’s smile faded. “You don’t know then…” Caranthir said sullenly. “Know what? What has happened?” Caranthir put a hand on Alcarë’s, “Haldir did not make it through the night. He was stuck down as the Urukai broke into the Keep.” Alcarë look as Caranthir, tears welled up in his eyes. He had known Haldir for hundreds of years. They were like brothers. “I am sorry Alcarë” Caranthir said, putting a hand on his shoulder. He then go up and left Alcarë alone with his thoughts. Alcarë was in the House of Healing for three more days, until he could finally walk again. He mourned over the loss of his friend Haldir, but he made a vow to avenge him, if it was the last thing he did in this world. A week later, he returned to his home in Lothlorien, to await more orders from Galadriel. Upon learning of Haldir’s death, she appointed Alcarë as the new captain. “Lady Galadriel, I wish to take our soldiers to the aide of Gondor and Rohan, once more.” Galadriel nodded. “You are brave Alcarë, but do not use the loss of Haldir as a reason to lead your own to death. Only if you truly wish to help the race of men, will I give you my word to go.” “I do wish to help them my lady. I wish to save Middle Earth.” He looked at her with fire in his eyes. Galadriel nodded, “Then you have my permission Alcarë” Alcarë bowed and walked out of the room, where he began to make new plans for his army. Never taking Haldir off of his mind. The End |
