Acne.
Have spots?

Treating:
Although harsh face scrubs sound like the best thing for acne, they are achally the worst.
Acne is caused by the over reaction of oil glands, usually casued by an increase of hormones in the teenage years. The oil clogs the pores, and in turn Bacteria can breed, causing spots to appear.
If you wash your face too often, or with a harsh face wash or scrub, it will take all the oil out, this will cause your body to react to replace that oil, causing more to be produced! Scrubbing the face also aggrivates the spots, causing them to become red, and inflamed. Once this happens, the spots can become itchy and become worse.  Not to mention the dryness. So don't do it!

Step 1) Clean your face morning and night only. As washing too often can aggrivate spots. Use a gentle foaming face wash with a pump to reduce the amount of bacteria that can get inside. Mix the face wash with some walm water and work into a lather.

Step 2) rinse your face with COLD water which will open up the pores. Then PAT your face dry with a clean towel. Rubbing your face will just make your skin itchy and red.

Step 3) REMEMBER: face wash is NOT a treatment, concider it only as a prep for the treatement. Choose a overnight cream (such as clearasil overnight defence gel) or other spot-fighting lotion to put on a few minutes after you have washed your face. Remember to apply with clean hands. If you have severe acne, and have tried over-the-counter medications then ask your doctor for a stronger medicine.

Make sure your face wash is:
oil free
Alcohol free
Anti-bacterial
Gentle
Specially formulated for your skin type. (e.g spot prone/sensitive)

4 easy steps to covering spots up with makeup.
you will need: foundation, concealer and powder.

ALWAYS USE OIL FREE MAKEUP!

Step 1) Apply a
thin layer of foundation to the affected areas, and blend well in between covered and non covered skin areas.

Step 2)  Apply more foundation to the affected areas only,
dabbing it on with your finger, not rubbing.

Step 3) If needed, apply a tiny amount of concealer to the small areas where redness is still shown. Don't use too much, as this will make your skin orange.

Step 4) Dab a small amount of powder on, using a makeup sponge to finish your look. It will make your makeup stay on for longer and remove any access oil.
