Orvis concentrated paste shampoo |
Lather on horse, rinse thoroughly using 1 cup white vinegar and/or 1 tablespoot of bath oil (e.g., Alpha Keri or Avon's Skin So Soft) per 5 gallons final rinse water. |

Mild; extremely economical;effective;biodegradable;rinses out easily leaving no noticeable residue. Use sparingly ( 2 or 3 tablespoons per wash). |

For moisturizing hard , dry hooves. |
Hand cream for chapped hands, such as Nivea or Vaseline Intensive Care. |
Apply generously by hand to exterior of clean hoof. |

Effective short term moisturizer. Can tend to be a bit expensive with frequent use but no health problems have been reported. |

Effective moisturizer; a common use amont old time Saddlebred show people. Obviously bacon smell;greasy. Though the intent is to add and retain moisture within the hoof, there are those who belive greasy dressings prevent external moisture from entering the hoof wall, thereby perpetuatting dry hoof condition |
Olive Oil can also be used with the same application as the above. It's effective but can be expensive. |
