| MARJORIE FINLAY: Born and educated in Montreal, Finlay moved to Belleville in 1965. She studied painting with area artists, attending the Schneider School of Fine Arts and various workshops in Ontario and Quebec. After moving to California in 1975, she became a full-time student at The Southern California Institute of Art. Her love of painting from life prompted her to even further studies in life drawing and painting at the Irvine Valley College. In 1987 Finlay returned to the Quinte area where she actively continues to paint her favourite subjects: the great outdoors and the human form. |
