Sailor moon is a shoujo anime. Unfortunately, living in the UK I have only seen the 2 series, the Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R series :-(. Because of this I'm going to focus on these series in detail then go on to what I know about the other series later and most likely in less detail. Fox kids in the UK only shows the first 2 seies. I'm not too sure why this is because they are already dubbed and cut for their showings in the USA. I have tried researching about them though because I have a keen interest in the Outer Sailor Scouts. I have a lot of the manga also, including the ones from after the R series so I will use those for information too.
Basically the story of the outline of the first 2 series is:: Serena is a 14-year-old who rescues a cat from a gang of kids only to have the cat, named Luna, tell her that she was Sailor Moon and was destined to find and protect The Princess of the Moon. Out to stop her are the members of the Negaverse. Luckily for clutzy Serena she has her friends to help her. They are Amy - Sailor Mercury, Raye - Sailor Mars, Lita - Sailor Jupiter, and Mina - Sailor Venus. The Negaverse members they have to fight are Queen Beryl and her henchmen - Jedyte, Nephlite, Zoycite and Malachite. Alan and Anne Granger with their Cardians to assist them. Then Wiseman with his people - Prince Diamond, Prince Sapphire, Emerald, Rubeus and the 4 sisters - Catzy, Bertie, Prizma and Avery. |

There are also several movies out as well. |

The Sailor Stars series is only available in Japan so far. In Japan, there is 200 episodes in total and in the other countries where Sailor Moon is aired there are 159 episodes. |
