  Bill Wennington, Canada's Prideska

In March of 1995, Sean Gamble needed to complete a creative project for his Honors English class at Blue Valley Northwest High School. He gathered all of his musically-inclined friends together in Doug Pyle's basement to record a ska version of "Blitzkrieg Bop" (originally by The Ramones, ska version inspired by Tom Collins & the Cocktail Shakers), on a "Sing-aloadeon Kareoke Machine." Soon, the BWFC was playing parties, coffeehouses, and regional shows. Alas, the BWFC broke up when half the members went to college, but the ska/punk/geek spirit lives on...

Here's a little 5 second clip of Bill winning the opening tip vs. Chris Webber of the Warriors, and tapping the ball to Scottie Pippin for the dunk. (Caution: this .avi file is 483Kb, so all of you with computers like mine won't load this file until next time the Cubs win the World Series, which won't be until October, 1998)

Perhaps the most extensive BWFC page around, from the man with the sweet, sweet voice, Mr. Kevin "Man Without a Face" Miles
