|mohaa_logo |ASCII (pronounced askee by some) is an acronym for American Standard Code for|
|nintendo |Information Interchange. It consists of only the following characters: |
|people |AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhIiJjKkLlMmNnOoPpQqRrSsTtUuVvWwXxYyZz1234567890 |

|text |This means no underlines, no bolds, and no accented characters, only those |
|title |characters. ASCII text is usually composed and viewed with the Windows |
| |program Notepad. ASCII text is most commonly saved as a .txt file. |
|contributed |ASCII art is art that consists of only these characters in a fixed-width |
| |font. A fixed-width font is one where every character has the same width. |
| |The most commonly used font for ASCII art is Courier New. |

| |You may, but I ask that you do the following: |
| |1) Do not alter the art or alter/remove the signature (you should remove the |
| |notes after it, however) |
| |2) Include a link back to here, ie: |

| |3) Email me at parker_gamemaster@hotmail.com (parker_gamemaster@hotmail.com) |
| |and give me the URL or other means of accessing the location of my piece |
| |(i.e. aim SN if it is used in your aim profile) simply so I can assure that |
| |it is unaltered and still beautiful :) |

| |_______________IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE A PIECE OF ART________________|
| |Be sure that it only contains the characters described in the WHAT IS ASCII |
| |section and was composed in the font Courier New. The best way is to save |
| |your piece of art as a .txt file and attach it to the email, as this will |
| |keep the formatting from being changed. If you cannot do this, just send it |
| |in the body of the email. No matter what way u submit, BE SURE YOU INCLUDE A|
| |SIGNATURE! |

| |______________________________A LITTLE HISTORY_______________________________|
| |It began with a few one-line images of smiley faces in aim conversations. I |
| |learned about courier new and fixed-width fonts when writing a faq for |
| |GameFaqs.com. Though the faq was never published, I came out with my first |
| |piece of ASCII art: |
| | _ _ _ _ |
|                 ||_)  /\  |_) |_/ |_ |_)                                                      |
|                 ||   /--\ | \ | \ |_ | \                                                      |
| |I started doing other people's names so they could put it in their AIM |
| |profile. Sometime in march 2004 I changed my website which had been about |
| |electronic gaming into a collection of my ASCII art works. The old website |
| |layout can be found here. At the time I thought it was the most unique thing|
| |in the world; I even boasted on the front page that it was the only site made|
| |entirely of text. I have since learned that I am not alone in my interest in|
| |this unique art form. If you are interested in seeing some other people's |
| |work after u browse mine, you can start with the links at the bottom of this |
| |page. |
