If there's one phrase I get tired of hearing, it's "there's nothing to do in Richmond."  There's ALWAYS something to do in Richmond... and this list only includes activities that are free or dirt cheap.
Summer 2005

Sunday: go to Belle Isle.  it's free, it's beautiful, and it's never deserted. Or pack a picnic dinner and head to Dogwood Dell for the free Festival of the Arts
Monday: go check out live comedians for no cover at Easy Street, or go see the Braves at the Diamond--tickets are like 6 bucks
Tuesday: 8:30 outdoor movie at Legend Brewery--everything's free but the beer.  OR, go be a huge dork at Cafe Gutenberg's Socrates Cafe the first Tues. of every month
Wednesday: go take free Latin dancing lessons at Razzles--8:00, or go to Innsbrook for live music in the courtyard. Stop by River City Cellars first for their weekly beer tasting
Thursday: check out the Melting Pot's $5 weekly wine tasting, or join the Quoit Club and take a historic tour the 2nd Thurs of every month
Friday: go to River City Cellars' free wine tasting from 5-7, then head to hear free live music at Friday Cheers...OR, for more sober activities, check out the art galleries on Broad for First Friday and in Manchester for Fourth Friday
Saturday: head to Total Wine for their free wine tasting at noon. Then pack a book and a blanket and head over to Maymont to enjoy the outdoors
