Dr. Jaynne Middleton is Professor of Voice and Associate Dean of the School of Music at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, she holds a B.M. and M.M. in voice from Florida State University and the D.M.A. in Vocal Performance from University of North Texas. Some of her leading roles were the east coast premiere of Carlisle Floyd's Of Mice and Men, Kurt Weill's Three Penny Opera with famed Lotte Lenya, and her concert debut was the soprano soloist with Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Symphony in the Messiah. She has performed throughout the southeast and southwest U.S., Europe, Russia, Poland, and Saudi Arabia. Locally, she has performed with the Abilene Opera Association as Micaela in Carmen, and the Second Lady in the Magic Flute. She will be performing the role of Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro this summer, 2001 with the Abilene Opera. She has soloed with the Abilene Philharmonic, the Abilene Community Theatre and the McMurry Dinner Theatre. She is presently on the Board of the Paramount Theatre, and Young Audiences, Inc. of Abilene. She is married to local family physician Carl Trusler, M.D.. | ||||||||||||||||||||
