The Venus Virtual Book Club II provides a place on the Internet for people (predominantly women) to share their views and ideas of the chosen book, as well to share friendship and camaraderie in an online club.
The motivation for building this site was to provide a place for women to gather to discuss the chosen books, regardless of their geographical location. One of the benefits of having an online book club, other than not having to go out to actual meetings, is that you can read the book at your own pace, and log on and add your thoughts and reviews at any time of night or day.
This site is just in its beginning stages, and I hope to continue to build on it by adding features such as a live chat, 'members only' features which will require password login, and perhaps a members' photo album. I'd also like to add a Book Exchange, a forum where members can exchange their used books with one another. Another small feature that I'd like to add is an automatic greeting, sent to each member on his or her birthday, from the Venus Virtual Book Club II.
