Elves

In the land there are four kinds of elves, each living in their own distinct region with little interaction between them.  They each have their own gods, their own customs, and their own problems.

Forest Elves are the most common type of elves, and usually what comes to someone's mind when you say elf.  At one time they kept to the Forest of Confusion, but now they can be found just about anywhere.  While some remain in the forests to be guides, others frequent the cities as marketers or mages.  Forest elves are also the most common dragon trainers because of their great prowess with capturing the beasts and understanding them.

Dark Elves are quite the mysterious lot.  Living beneath the Shadow Mountains in complex tunnels, they keep very much to themselves.  These elves are easily noticed by their dark skin, cotton-like hair, and low tolerance for bright sunlight.  Even before the evil entered the land, these elves were at war with the Dwarves for claim of the Shadow Mountains.

Sea Elves do their best to keep to themselves on Mist Isle, but trade from the ocean requires their special touch.  Never found far from water, Sea Elves make the most excellent of sailors, and it is even said they have a pact with the Mermaids.

High Elves, or Golden Elves, are the most reclusive lot.  Their home, named after them, are the High Mountains, a nearly impossible place to find anything, let alone those who do not wish to be found.  It is said that they are the greatest of mages, and that their animal training skills are beyond measure.  Yet their secrets remain a secret.
