Trolls are a race of larger-than-human creatures, but not as large or powerful as ogres.  The metabolism of a troll is faster than that of any other creature.  The killing of a troll is said to be impossible by means of phsyical damage.  The trolls metabolism allows them to regenerate lost body parts in a matter of days, and anything less than that is usually healed immediately.  For this reason and because of their large size and great endurance, they make excellent warriors.  Trolls are turned to stone in sunlight, and therefore keep to subterranean homes and only emerge at night.  They love all kinds of treasure, and their keen noses can smell metal from miles away.

Ogres are huge creatures, ten feet tall on the small side, but despite their immense size and strength they are extremely stupid.  They also have ravenous appetites and will eat just about anything - or anyone.  They much prefer the meat of centaurs, and for this reason the two races have been at war for as long as anyone can remember.  Ogres prefer to sleep in caves, but they are often found in the forests far from the mountains.  The best way to find an ogre would be to smell it.

Goblins are perhaps the meanest and toughest creature of evil in the land, despite their mixed reputations.  They average about five feet tall, have pale green or grey skin, and are hairless beyond the fine and luxuriant hair on their heads.  They are almost always smiling in that sharp-toothed grin of theirs, and more often than not you cannot tell if they are eyeing you like a side of meat or not.  Despite their unsettling savagery they have a disarming charm which almost offsets their ugly appearance, almost.  They are thin and wiry, small but very tough for their size.  They are quite intelligent, which makes them all the more dangerous, and exceptionally agile.  They are also fond of bartering and will sit for hours to haggle about prices, and the sight of two goblins haggling is a sight indeed.  They can also see very well in the dark, and indeed make very fearsome opponents in any situation.
