	Did you really adition over the phone for the part? Yes. The show`s producers phoned my agent, who called me and sayd: "They`re interested in you for a role in Earth: Final Conflic, but asked if you can do Middle Eastern, European or Russian accent." I sayd "No pro-bem." My very first recurring role was years ago as Russian spy in Airwolf, so I already had the accent down. My agent sayd, "They want to hear it." I sayd jokingly, "Do they want to phone me?". So that`s what they did. I got the phone call from the episode`s produ-cer, Brendon Spencer, whom I`d worked with before, and the E:FC producers. We talked about the role I did my accent, they sayd, "Thank you very much. The job is yours."
			Is Federov good, bad or both? When I got to Toronto to do my first episode (Arrival) I sat down with the people involved and made sure we were on the same page. I think they wanted a caracter that was powerful and charming, and at the same time hard as a rock and extremly cold underneath. I love nothing more than to be the bad guy who exudes charm and confidence outside, while also hiding a dark side. Federov operates in the world where everyone around him will cut other persons throat if given the chance. So he has to make sure he`s always one step ahead of them. At the same time, if it doesn`t serve his purpose he won`t hurt anyone, you know?
Did you mind wearing a spacesuit in The Summit? It was a hot. The spacesuit was in fact from the film Mission on Mars. The first time I tried it on I had 2 dressers with me and it took us 2 hours to work out everything. There was an undergarment you put on first that had its own built - in coolant system. It was made up out of cooling tubes and a pack that held a frozen bottle of ice. The "sock" I wore on my head had the same type of equipment. The actual spacesuit went over that and it had these mini-fans that you connected to battery packs. You had to have air blowing into the suit all times otherwise you wouldn`t be breathing for very long.
		Would you like to reprise you role in E:FC? Absolutely. I talked to Brendon recently and he sayd, "The show`s has been renewed for 5th season and producers love you.". In the 3 episodes I have already done. The writers have managed to zero in on who Federov is and gave me some great material to work with. I already apprediated that. It is a dream job and one I hope continues.
