Tim Berners-Lee gave the World the World Wide Web "FREE"!

geocities and yahoo do not live by the same principals.

Thanks for geocities server but now geocities/yahoo have broken the trust.

ROCK'N'ROLL IS STILL GREAT.

MUSIC FROM THE 50's and 60's IS THE BEST!!

Hamilton's CKOC goes back to the 1920's. Today, it is an oldies station "1150 AM" on the dial. Use the link to listen on line live or to check out the current "TOP 500". This station uses Windows media to be heard live! Click on the 1150 Juke Box.

CHUM RADIO was back on the AM Dial at 1050 AM as of August 27, 2002 after being down for 16 months. CHUM radio was Rock'N'Roll in Ontario, Canada from 1957 until it went off the air to become a Sports Station. CHUM returned to the OLDIES FORMAT and now CELEBRATES 50 YEARS of ROCK'N'ROLL. CHUM 1050 on your AM dial died on March 25, 2008. The CHUM CHART history of music charts from 1957 to 1986 disappeared from the internet.

CTV AXED CHUM!!

All we have left are the memories. Check out Radio Scapbook below for sound clips.

FM 108 used to play good Rock'N'Roll in the 80's. Russ Horton a former DJ on FM 108 is now on internet radio. Radio Samantha works best on broad band systems.

LOOK AT THIS JUKEBOX! WOW!

IF YOU WANT TO BUY ONE OF THESE JUKEBOXES, then "click" on the ROCK-OLA Juke Box. My Juke box was made by Antique Apparatus. I got it in 1992 and it still works great!! ROCK-OLA now makes the same product. Click on the Juke Box for a tour of ROCK-OLA.

What happenned to the Canadian Dollar? (NOW AT .80 US)

I still remember when the Canadian Dollar could get $1.05 US in 1958 and $1.06 in 2008. In 2008, we have returned to a dollar that can buy at US prices or better depending on Canada Customs!! Then the economy fell apart in October 2008. Back to a 78 cent dollar.

What ever the price, I get lots of enjoyment and so do the grandchildren!!!

With my Marantz cd music recorder, I can stock my 1946 Wurlitzer with music that used to be in my old vinyl collection. Pioneer and Philips make a similiar version. Music from my old 8 tracks can be re-recorded onto a CD in real time and played back in a cd player in the car, home, or Juke Box. From this point you can change and create your own tunes on your computer. On your computer burner you can mix these songs with downloads from the internet. Kodak and Maxell seem to be the best CDR to use to copy for personal purposes. My collection includes almost all the popular songs from 1955 to 1968.

I put up a few Canadian Labels on this link. Canadian Records were often on different local Labels. 45 RPM records cost 79 to 99 cents at Sam the Record Man or A & A's Records. You could purchase singles "just off" the Chart for a lower price. Labels like "Quality" & "Regency" are displayed on this link:

Long Playing Records or LP's were expensive. Stereo LP's were always at least a dollar more. One of the great ideas was to put hits records together on one LP. Singles recently off the chart or "oldies" that were out of circulation could be purchased on a LP from K-TEL. Early LP's had only 12 songs. You would be lucky if two "hit" songs of your favourite singer were included on the LP. K-TEL gave you 20 to 24 Hit Singles on one LP. A K-TEL link was dedicated to the history of LP's with 24 Greatest Hits but removed to limit legal costs from K-TEL

This site used to include a midi for non profit background effects that has been removed because of the possible threats from the big boys in the music empires.

The Diamonds, Crew-Cuts and Four Lads all originated in Toronto in the 1950's. The Diamond's "Little Darlin'" hit number 2 on Billboard. Click on "pophits" for your link to this Toronto Group of 50's & 60's:

When I visited Memphis I had to go to 706 Union Street: The Birth of Rock"N"Roll. This link will give you a tour of what I saw in the Summer of 2005.

Click on the MOTOWN Pamphlet for a Tour of Motown in Detroit.

The Motown Historical Museum traces the roots of Motown's remarkable story and chronicles its impact on 20th century popular culture and music styles. I visited Motown in 2002. By chance, Martha and the Vandellas were there to greet everyone.
