Autum and Winter in New England

Welcome to my New England Autum Excursion. Here you will fine several photos that I have taken this fall between Vermont and Connecticut.

Enjoy the spectacular colors that only can be found in New England.

Other places have color changes, but even the experts agree that the fall season in New England is the best. You can travel inland into Vermont where the quaint little villages are dwarfted by the colorful mountains. Drive state route 100 north from Wilmington. Here you twist and turn through the mountains that in winter are a skiers delight. Mount Snow, Stratton Mountain and north to Bromley. The fall colors are warm and relaxing. Never a dull moment.

Many motels dot the area that are surrounded by the rich floral colors that make up fall in New England. Reservation are usually required. So if you decide to visit during the peak color weeks, make sure you book your accomodations as early as possible.

Trails can be found along the roadside that require only a short walk to get a better perspective of the autum richness. These trails are also listed as "Nature Trails" and the varied wildlife can be seen through-out the region. Picnic areas also are available like these shown on the road leading to the summit of Mt. Equinox in Manchester, Vermont.
