GaryD's Mucky Fingers Page 3
African Bronze figure

We named him Friday after Robinson Crusoe, ManFriday
Friday came to light as we were searching in an old wood.
He announced himself with a very loud signal. The soil under the tree where we were searching was of the lose type.
You could push your fingers down 6in or so.

Well that is just what Angie, my wife did
as I looked on.
Very Very slowly this beautiful bronze figure slowly emerged.
Angie had hold of him by his small hand.
His hand his head his body and the his legs, we just looked at one another in disbelief there in the sunlight Friday stood.

Well would have stood if he had had a base to stand on.
I said something like wow that’s a great find shame about the base.
Then as I took two steps forward my detector gave another loud signal.
I quickly dropped to my knees dug down half hoping but not believing,
10 seconds later I was holding the little bronze base in my hand
I asked Angie, to pass Friday over to me
as I stood him on top I don’t know who had the biggest grin.

Sometimes you find a little treasure it may not be valuable but it gives you a buzz.
Well Friday gave us a buzz that day.
