Minelab explorer tip: |
Hi Gary here is a good tip for your tips Page !! minelab explorer owners at some time will probably have the arm cup break a quick replacement is get one of those crutches with the grey plastic arm cup on the end and bingo this works on most detectors and is normally better than original

Seeding a beach with coins : |
one tip I would like to share with you regards searching beaches. I have had some success in the
past by seeding a beach with coins which I had found and which have little
value. I then stamp them with a unique number and place them at random
around a selected beach.
Some time later I search the beach at various intervals, ranging from one
week to a month and later months (never removing them and attempting to find
where the coins move, It is important to ensure a map is produced showing
where the coins where placed and where they have turned up.
Tide times and seasons should also be recorded.
Hope this helps
Regards

ID mode does not quite reach the depth of All metal mode : |
...you may already know this but contrary to what detector manufacturers say ID mode does not quite reach the depth of All metal mode. When you receive a signal in all metal mode which is deep and faint and you check it in ID mode it is gone, not rejected, gone. Most people who are flat out sweeping the coil side to side will accept it as rejected. What i do with deep targets is dig out 3 or 4 inches of soil to get the coil closer and check again in ID mode. I used this method at a beach with deep sand, Heard signal in all metal, lost it in ID, almost walked away because it was late and i was tired of picking up mainly lead sinkers all day. I dug up a Victorian gold ring......Roy Hogan.
