NEWS FLASH!

THE ORIGINAL GASTROPOD TRIO RECORDS 5 SONGS IN "IMPROMTU" SESSION!!!

On Saturday, November 29, 2003, the original 3-piece Gastropod lineup held an impromptu unplugged recording session at Brennan's house.  Recorded live to two tracks, the performance featured Brennan Hughes on acoustic guitar, Jeremy O'Clair on electric bass, and Jason McDougal on percussion.  The resulting five songs will probably be included as bonus tracks on the upcoming new Gastropod album, tentatively titled "Cookbook Research Project." The five tracks recorded are:

Moving at the Speed of Dark
Visceral
MuzzleLoader
Passenger Seat
Hunter's Moon

While at Brennan's, Jeremy also joined Jason in laying down drum and bass tracks for the upcoming recording of moshpit favorite "The Lustful Marmoset," featuring a really bizarre signature J-MO bass solo.

It now seems likely that Jeremy O'Clair will be participating in the upcoming Songwriters' Showcase show at Govan's in Gallatin, TN on January 8, 2003, and also intends to participate in more shows and recording sessions with Bren, Kevin, and J-Mac.

There is also a rumor that another songs was attempted at the session, but that tiredness took over and it they called it quits for the night.

Gastropod goes acoustic!

On Thursday, January 8, 2004 (7pm), Gastropod will be performing a live acoustic show at Govan's Gathering Place on the square in Gallatin.  Brennan will be backed up by Jason McDougal and Kevin White, playing guitar, bass, reed organ, keyboard synth, and xylophone.  Lydia Hughes will play tambourine.  The set list will include the following songs (not in order):

Two-Headed Boy
Deaths of Angels
Nerd With a Guitar
A Thousand Miles is a Light Year
One Voice (by Kevin White)
Three Days (by Kevin White)
Moving at the Speed of Dark
Tempest
Butterflies Weeping on Daffodils
Snuffleupagus
Passenger Seat
The Happy Bunny Song
Tomorrow I Die

This isn't just some run-of-the mill tribute page to a band that the webmaster likes. Here you will find insight from former members of the band, friends of those former members, and maybe even from friends of those friends. This site is created because Gastropod is extremely under-represented in cyberspace. Everything seems to be so fake.

So, sit back, relax, click away and enter the wonderful world of Gastropod (which means "Stomach Foot"...for what that's worth). We promise it'll be worth the price of admission.
