Program Schedule

GATEway Programs for 2008 – 2009

September 18, 2008, 6:30 – 8:00 PM, RCTC Heintz Center Commons

September Social and MCGT CHAT night We are pleased to welcome MCGT board members Patty Bradley and Karl Bunday who will speak about the social and emotional needs of gifted children. Gifted children can be particularly challenging to parent because their cognitive, fine motor, and social/emotional development are often out of synch. Join us to discuss this topic with our guest speakers and other parents who share this concern.

Families are invited to come at 6:30 for a social time to meet and visit with other GATEway families. Bring a dessert or fruit item to share. Beverages and tableware will be provided. The program will begin at 7 PM. We will provide supervised games and activities for school-age children in another room. Teens may choose to attend the adult discussion if they wish.

Our program will be held at the Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) Heintz Center, 1926 Collegeview Drive SE. Attendees should park in the East parking lot. The social time will be held in the Heintz Center Commons. We will meet in Room HA-134 for the discussion. GATEway would like to thank RCTC for allowing us to use their facilities.

Please RSVP to gateroch@yahoo.com by Sept. 17 if you plan to attend and tell us whether you plan to attend the social time, how many adults plan to attend, and the ages of any children you may bring.

Saturday, October 25, 2008, Annual MCGT Conference, University of St. Thomas

MCGT Annual ConferenceThis conference is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about gifted education and parenting issues.
