What is the Accelerated Reader Program?
The Accelerated Reader Program is a computerized quiz program.
Students are quizzed on reading comprehension and receive a score and points  based on the difficulty of the book and questions answered correctly. Students  have individualized goals. Those who meet their goals may wear jeans and have a recess treat each grading period.
Gautier Elementary has about 4,000 book quizzes available. You may find out if a book is an AR title by using the link from Gator Bytes home page or by viewing a notebook at the Gautier Public Library.

What happens when a book is kept past the due date?
Overdue notices are generally printed and distributed on Mondays. If a student beleives the book may have been returned, he should visit the library to help the library staff look on the shelves. The student should then look both at home and in the classroom.
A student cannot check out any more books until the overdue book is either returned or paid for.
