As the title states, this is Super Mario World (from now on referred to as SMW). For those of you who are still reading this review and haven't run off to buy it now, I'll give you all the gritty details!
I know what we are all secretly craving for, a brand new and original Mario title released on the GBA. While SMW isn't this, is it the next best thing, a port of the greatest Mario Adventure ever! (Well I think so anyway :b )

Mario can pick up items that increase his size, give him firballs to throw, or give him a cape to fly with. This, plus the classic Nintendo level design and extraordinary enemies of all shapes and sizes, gives the game it's addictive gameplay. As with previous Mario titles you must race against the clock and collect coins for extra points and lives.
Level design is unmatched in any other 2D platformer. SMW is great for both ovice and more advanced gamers because of it's non-liner design. While beginners take the standard route around the map, the more advanced players can search for the seemingly endless amount of secrets and shortcuts along the way. Either way your in for hours of varied gameplay.

Super Mario World is a visually perfect replica of the original SNES version, which I might add is stunning. As with all Nintendo games the visuals are sharp, colourful, and complete with Nintendo's cute cartoony theme (which I think works well).

Sound is another high for this game. Music is as catchy as ever and has a great effect on the gameplay. Sound FX are top-notch also. Nintendo have added speach to Mario and Luigi that sound great!

Some gamers may be mistaken about just how much the controls effect a game (after all, it's the link between the player and the game). This in mind, the controls are excellent! There are numerous techniques to learn (including jumping, flying, etc.) that take a little experimentation to get down-pat. Then once you'be mastered Mario, you can begin the process again with Luigi who also stars in SMW as a playable character!

This is a must have title for all gamers. If you have already played it on SNES (as many of us have), don't be dissmayed the nostalgia is incredibly fun. With a total of 96 exits in SMW, plus the inclusion of the Mario arcade game (great for multiplayer action) this game is bound to be great value for money. Buy it now!
