Volunteer
Did you know that 80% of Snohomish County is protected by volunteer firefighters and EMS responders.  Being a volunteer firefighter and / or EMS responder is not as easy as showing up when you have time.  Being a volunteer takes a lot of personal time and dedication.

The City of Gold Bar and surrounding Snohomish County area is protected by dedicated men and women.  These individuals come to the call for help day or night 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Snohomish County Fire District 26 is an all volunteer fire department.  Members are needed, in the past few years 911 calls have increased.  We are looking for individuals that can donate time to become a volunteer. 

Positions Available

Volunteer positions available for Firefighter and / or Emergency Medical personel.

Requirements:

1.   Have a high school diploma and be 18 years of age.
2.   Be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
3.   Pass a medical Examination.
4.   Be able to attend drill on Thursday evenings regularly.
5.   Be able to work with others.
6.   Be able to endure human suffering and destruction of property.
7.   Complete a tested training program.
8.   Work in a semi military organizational structure.
9.   A current Washington State Drivers License.
10.  A decent driving record.
11.  Live with in the fire district and or City of Gold Bar.

Non-Resident Volunteer positions available for Firefighter and / or Emergency Medical personel.

Requirements:

1.   Have a high school diploma and be 18 years of age.
2.   Be able to pass a medical evaluation.
3.   Must have current Washington State EMT or certifiable as a Washington State EMT and /         or be certified as a Firefighter I.
4.   Be able to work with others.
5.   Be able to endure human suffering and destruction of property.
6.   Satisfactory complete a tested training program and background investigation.
7.   Work in a semi military organizational structure.
8.   A current Washington State Drivers License with a decent driving record to be insurable.

Job Responsibilities:

1.  Responding as firefighter and / or EMS crew member.
2.  Perform general station maintenance and vehicle checks as required
3.  Work three or more eight hour day shifts a month.
4.  Attend drill on Thursday evenings regularly.
5.  Other duties as assigned.

Entrance into the non-resident program is restricted to those people who are certified as a Washington State EMT and / or Firefighter I.  Non-resident Volunteers can expect to gain valuable experience in EMS, Fire Suppression and Rescue.

Non-Resident Volunteer work varing shifts to make room for your education or employment commitments.  Uniforms are provided.

Snohomish County Fire District 26 is located in Snohomish County with a drive time of approximately 45 minutes from down town Everett.  This is an opportunity for you to begin building your resume as well as gain some valuable experience.
