Looking Back on Voyager
By Commander Malachina
***************
I sit
here in my ready room,
Thinking
back to when we first arrived in the Delta Quadrant.
This
was a long journey for the crew of Voyager
But now
we are home in the Alpha Quadrant.
I think
back to how many times we were so close to home
But we
lost the chance.
This
was a voyage no one will forget
Not
even me.
We had
two babies born on Voyager,
Which
we were happy to see.
I had,
at first, forbidden relationships on Voyager
But as
the time went on
I knew
that children would have to be born,
How
else would Voyager get home?
When we
had docked at spaceport,
We all
were given long shore leave.
But
every night, the crew of Voyager would return to the ship.
Just
recently I’ve been told that most of the crew will be returning
After
shore leave is over.
But
what delights me even more,
Is I’m
still going to be Captain of this vessel, Voyager.
Even
most of the Maquis crewmembers will return to Voyager.
On our
way home we went through tough times,
Met new
enemies and new allies.
And we
succeed in defeating our enemies.
We’ve
lost many people but were still able to live and carry on.
One
person we did lose and it took the crew awhile to adjust.
That
person was Kes.
She was
a beautiful young woman who had amazing talents.
We had
been in the Delta Quadrant for seven years
And now
we are home.
It’s
nice to be home.
But one
thing remains in my mind
And
that is all the time we spent on this ship,
The USS
Voyager
