This deed made this the 19th day of April 1918 between Anne Roberts, widow of Archibald Roberts’s decd, of the County of Grant, James E. Roberts and Lena Roberts, his wife, of the County of Mineral parties of the first part, and John E. Kabrick. Of the County first mentioned, party of the second part, and all of the state of West Virginia.

Witnessed, that for the sun of one thousand dollars ($1000.00) in hand paid the receipt of which hereby acknowledge, and another deed executed by the said John Kabrick and Emma Kabrick, his wife, to the same James E. Roberts for their right, title and interest in that portion of the Archibald Roberts land lying and situated in said Grant County, on the westerly side of Knobley Pike, the parties of the first part doth grant and hereby convey into the said John E. Kabrick, all the right, title and interest in and to that portion of said land below easterly from said pike, described and bounded as follows.

Beginning at a pine and two white oaks on a ridge and original corner of W. S. Michael, this land and Wm. C. Bacorn and running hence along the latter by old calls, N. 48* 30’ W. 106 P. to a sugar, red oak and white oak by Salt Springs Run, an original corner of the 23 and 109 acre tracts; along the later n. 51*W 34 P to a point in this line in the center of said Knobley Pike thence leaving Bacorn and by divisions lines of this and the James E. Roberts part, with meanders of the road now surveyed N. 38* 40’ 21.2P. N. 6* 30’ 21.2 P. N 23* 30’ E. 53.4P. ; N. 52* 54’ E 16.84P; N 25* 30’ E 19 P. to a point in the out line of this and George Leatherman’s land, S 60* 40’ E 10.2P from an original corner there of calling for two white oaks, one of which is now standing; thence leaving this pike along Leatherman, S 60* 40’ E 183 P to a black walnut stump at the north edge of said Run (now gone) N 87* O5’ E 13 P. to a stake standing S 50* 30’ E 0.68P from a porter marked elm, an original corner in Leatherman’s line of this and the J. Wesley Burgess land;  thence along the latter by an agreed line, S 20* 45’W 44 P to a stake with chestnut oak and dogwood pointers his corner, and corner of W. S. Michael thence along the same by corrected line S 48* 54 w. 151.2P to the beginning containing 169 acres more or less, also on other tract adjoining the above described land on the South west side thereof, as described in a deed from Michael Liken and Catharine Likin, his wife to James Robers dated 29th day of February 1840.  Beginning in the Salt Springs Run in the original line, thence with the same reversed N. 51 W. 20P to two dogwoods by the public road with the same S 7* E 22 P to the middle of the Salt Springs Run; with the same S 82* E 8P thence N 26* E 10 ¼ P to the beginning containing 1 acre and 64 sq poles, and in both tracts 170 acres and 64 sq poles, more or less, together with the appurtenance thereto belonging.
