Mrs Cuplinger {parents of Elizbeth Lyon Lucy Lyon Getz (d) 1906 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Surveyed by Judy Kimble Nov 20, 2003 *Notes: According to Ruth & Twila Hesse genealogy records, this is what they say: "We have been unable to find very much information in regard to the beginning of this cemetery. Most of our information has been given by Ruth Halterman. The parents of Elizabeth Lyon who were Cuplingers (uncertain of spelling) who were with the Myerstown group and the first six infants of Mr and Mrs Lyon were the first ones buried here. No dates have been give. Also a married daughter Lucy Lyon Getz was buried here in 1906. She died during child birth at Getsmer near Davis and the body was carried across the mountain by Otto Hesse, W C "Chris" Rohrbaugh and others. This cemetery is located on the property of Dorothy & Ray Shreve and the one feature we especially noted is that it does not face the rising sun as all other cemeteries we have visited so obviously do. The grounds are in bad condition. Traces of an old fence can be seen." |
