Will of C. C. Martin Grant County Will book 1; page 227-228 "I, C.C. Martin of the County of Grant and State of West Virginia, being owner of the uncertainty of life and in failing health, but of sound mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will and testament, in manners following, to wit, so help me God. First, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Marion Martin, all my real estate and personal property of which I may die seized, and possessed of and to hold the same with all rents dues or until my youngest child may have attained the age of twenty-one years and then a lawful and equal division among my children share and share alike. Second, It is my will that all my just and honest debts shall be paid as soon after my death as convenient either with the rents from my flouring mill and saw mills or from the sale of personal property as my wife and her adviser here in after named may deem best. Third, It is my sole intention in giving and bequeathing all my property to my wife that she may be prepared to maintain herself and rear my children to the age of twenty-one years of age. Fourth, I hereby request my brother,Z.T. Martin to act as adviser in matters in which my wife may request advice." I am witness whererof I , C . C.
