****************************************************************************************** This info came from Betty Hartman about the Powers Cemetery in Medley, WV My dad, Edgar Maywood Paugh, died Jan 1984, and we had taken him over to the cemetery before he passed away thinking maybe he would remember some things, since that is where he grew up. That was the home of Eli Acem and Ann Mariah Harris Powers. Dad's mother cora died 1903 and Dad was only about 6 yrs old, so the grandparents, Eli and Ann Mariah took the children and raised them. Eli A Powers 1829-1912 Annie M w/o Eli 1844-1912 "Our Darling" Cora A Paugh 4 Jan 1870 - 10 Apr 1903 J W Powers 1877-1899 Mary A Powers Bessie G Haslacker Nov 1893 - Oct 1915 Elsie P Paugh Feb Apr Lena O Foxe 18 --1913 infants of C W Powers ****************************************************************************************** Lena O Foxe, Bessie Haslacker, Elsie P Paugh were all daughters of Cora A Powers Paugh and Daniel Webster Paugh. Dad gave me Lena's birthdate as 1892. This was his oldest sister. Bessie Haslacker was also an older sister. Elsie P was a sister. There is an infant buried there, can't remember if she has a stone. Her name is Georgie. She was the daughter of Bessie Cordelia Paugh and Frank Haslacker. J W Powers was the son of Eli & Ann Mariah and he died of brain fever when he was 22 . Mary A Powers was a daughter of Eli & Ann Mariah. She died 24 Apr 1889 of Spinal Meningitis. She was 15 yr 4 mo 8da. |
