In the name of God, Amen, I Jacob Bosley of the County of Hardy, and the State of Virginia, being feeble, though moderate health, but of sound mind and disposing memory (for which I thank God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous to dispose of all wordly estate as it has pleased God to bless me with , I give and bequeath the same in manner following;
First, It is my will and I do order, that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisifed, as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.
Secondly, I give and bequeath to my deare wife Mary one third of all tha is left after my just debts is paid as above mentioned for her maintenance during her natural life, and after here decease, what is left shall be disposed of in manner hereinafter mentioned. Equal among my nine children with the exception of James widow, who if the three children, heirs of James Bosley deceased, Upton Welsey, Hester Ann and Othy Dillion come to the age of twenty one years, they shall receive their full share, and if in dispensation of God, they should not, the widow shall receive the sum of five dollars and no more. And the other two thirds shall be disposed of as mentioned, between my nine children, William, John, James Bosley's widow, the same exception as above, Adam, Philip, and Nancy, Mary and Archibald, Isabel and Sary, and lastly I nominate and appoint Zebulon D Hollen and Jacob Evans to be executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revolking all other wills, legacies and bequests heretofore made by me and declaring this and no other, to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 8th day of December in the year eighteen hundred and fifty six. Signed and sealed and declared by the said testator, as his last will and testament in the presence of James Warfield, Christopher (his X mark) and David Roberts.

West Virginia Grant County : on the 28th day of January 1870 the within last will and testament of Jacob Bosley deceased was produced to me in my office and proved by the oaths of Christopher Martin and David Roberts, two of the subscribing witness thereto, whereupon it was ordered that the said will be admitted to record.
