James Likin to Solomon George deed
Book 8 page 426 This deed made this 21st day of May 1887 by and between James Likin and Zuba Likin, his wife, of Grant District, Grant County and state of West Virginia of the first part and Solomon George of the aforesaid district, county and state of the second part. Witnessed: that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars which is paid, the aforesaid party of the first part doth grant with special warranty all their right, title and interest to the said Solomon George and to a certain tract or parcel of land known as the “Hagerty Tract” on the drains of Salt Spring Run in the aforesaid district, county and state and is bounded as follows: Beginning at the 18th corner of the big survey cornering in a gum and red oak at the upper end of tucker place, thence NE 65 poles to a double white oak, thence E 50 to two chestnut oaks on top of a ridge in a line of “Moon Place” by a road S 50 E 66 poles to two chestnut oaks formerly two Spanish oaks S W 3 poles to white chestnut oak, a corner of Daniel Ludwick in the Thomas S. George line, thence with said Ludwick line revised N 40 118 poles to the beginning containing 30 acres more or less. Witnessed the following signatures and seal.
