Mrs. Phyliss (Roby) Mowery, 76, of Baltimore, Md, and formerly of Petersburg, died Sunday, Dec 9, at a hospital in Baltimore. Born June 11, 1925, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late B G and Essie Roby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Mowery; three sisters, Rebecca (Roby) Harman, Justina (Roby) Clayton and Mary (Roby) Dayton and two brothers, Harman Roby and B Grant Roby. Mrs Mowery worked for the former H-P Store in Petersburg. She is survived by one sister, Polly (Roby) Day of Cumberland, Md and number of grandchildren. Funeral services and interment was Wednesday, in Baltimore. Arrangements were under the direction of the Connelly Funeral Home, Baltimore. =============================================================================== Kenneth Eugene Meadows, 51, of Rockville, Md and of Arthur, WV died Thursday, Nov 29, at his residence in Rockville. Born April 1, 1950, in Princton, he was the son of Tilden Samuel Meadows and the late Lois Meadows. He was also prededed in death by his first wife, Maxine Meadows in 1996. Mr Meadows was a building engineer for J B G Companies. Besides his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Louise Edwards Meadows of Milton; his second wife, Elizabeth (Boehner) Meadows, whom he married in 1999; one son, Kenneth E Meadows II of North Carolina,; one sister, Brenda Hill of Frederick, Md and two brothers, Sam Meadows of Princeton and Jerry Meadows of Dracut, Mass. His body was cremated. Memorial services will be in Rockville at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Grant County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Light Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg. =============================================================================== John Forest Mongold, Jr, 58, of Odenton, Md died Tuesday, Nov 20, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D C Born Oct 6, 1943 in Petersburg, he was the son of Pauline (Berg) Mongold of Odenton and the late John Forest Mongold, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette (Shreve) Mongold in Sept 1999 and one sister, Karen Sue Mongold. Mr Mongold retired in 1995, as a dockworker for Roadway Express. He was Brethren by faith. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Terrapin Club of the University of Maryland and Mountaineer Club of WV University. Besides his mother, he is survived by three sons, Steve A Mongold Sr of Petersburg, Tommy Kimble of Lusby, Md and Mark Kimble of Odenton; three sisters, Patricia Nelson of Glen Burnie, Md; Brenda K Phillips of Purcellville, Va and Kathy S Williams of Crownsville, Md; one brother, Gregory A Mongold of Shadyside, Md and six grandchildren. Her boyfriend, Bryan D Reel, died in the same accident. Born Jan 7, 1982 in Cumberland, Md she was the daughter of Rhonda (Keplinger) and Michael J Ours of Cabins and Gary Mongold of Dorcas. Miss Mongold was a graduate of Petersburg High School Class of 2000.She was a student at Shepherd College, Shepherdstown and a certified nursing assistant at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg. She attended Cabins Assembly of God Church, Cabins. Along with her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Nikole Ours and Cassidee Ours, at home; one half brother, Jordan Mongold of Upper Tract; one stepbrother, Chad Helmick of Petersburg; maternal grandparents, Larry and Rose Wratchford of Petersburg, James and Pattie Ours of Cabins and John A and Alice Mongold, Dorcas; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Jo Wratchford of Petersburg; paternal great-grandmother, Janet Mongold of Dorcas; several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother, Alber Mongold, April 28, 2001 and one half brother. He is survived by his wife, Goldie (Moomaw) Mongold; two daughters, Sharon Ours of Moorefield and Brenda Myers of Oklahoma; four sons, Lloyd Mongold Jr of Grant County, WV; Chester Mongold, Mike Mongold, all of Moorefield; one sister, Una Sager of Cora, PA; two half sisters, Mamie Puffenbarger of Arthur, WV and Nita Robinson of Silver Spring, Md; one brother, Alston Mongold of Old Fields, WV; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr Mongold was retired from the Town of Moorefield, served in the US Army, a Korean War Veteran and was a Jehovah Witness. Funeral Services were held Sunday at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home with the Rev Jerry Hartwell officiating. Burial followed in the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield with military graveside services accorded by the Moorefield Veteran's Honor Guard. Pallbearers were his children. William retired from the US Army as a Sgt. 1st Class Sgt. He was a veteran of both the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts. He was a member of the Kitzmiller Lions Club, the Keyser VFW and the Proctor Kildow Post, American Legion in Oakland. He was a member of the Oakland Elks Club for 25 yrs. Surviving are his wife, Bessie May ( Morgan) Murphy; three brothers, Foreman and wife Ruth of Dorothy, New Jersey; Floyd and wife Gloria of North Highlands, California; and H Dewaine and wife Faye of Mount Storm, WV; four sisters, Lyda M Moore of Kitzmiller, Wilma Craver and husband Leonard of Mt Morris, Pa., Leora Lemon and husband Lloyd of Mt Storm and Phyliss Friend and husband Gerald of Swanton, Md Also surviving are a special girl, Sarah Ford of Kitzmiller; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester E McDonald in 1969 and two brothers, Herman Rohrbaugh and Roscoe Rohrbaugh.. She was the last member of her immediate family. Mrs McDonald was a member of Falls Assembly of God Church and had been a resident of Grant County Nursing Home since Feb 19, 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Louverna Rohrbaugh and Winona VanMeter, both of Maysville; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. (Feaster) Moyers of Cabins and the late Dennis A. Moyers, who died December 18, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Kathleen E. (Rohrbaugh) Feaster. Miss Moyers completed sixth grade at Petersburg Elementary School. She was a member of the Memorial Church of the Brethren, Petersburg, the Petersburg Elementary School band and North Fork Go-Getters 4-H Club. She was born April 7, 1909 in Grant County and was a daughter of the late Vina Sites. On November 20, 1930, she married Luther William Mongold, who survives. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert C, Mongold, who died July 8, 1974. Mrs. Mongold was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Petersburg. Surviving are two sons, William R. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Earl Miller, one sister and one brother.
