PETERSBURG, W.Va. ‹ David V. "Jake" Reel, 76, of Petersburg, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Born May 27, 1923, in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Bernard and Delphia Mae (Moyers) Crites. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Candice R. Reel; half sister, Zola Sites; and two brothers, Elwood Reel, and Brooks Reel.

Mr. Reel retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. in Petersburg, from over 40 years of service. After retirement he worked for Kesner's Exxon, Barr's Citco and at time of his death he was working for Markwood Chevron in Petersburg.

He was a member of CCC Camp (Civil Conservation Corp.). He was a veteran of World War II, served in the U.S. Air Force and life member of Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, in Petersburg.

Surviving are his wife, Goldie F. (Keplinger) Reel; two daughters, Delphia Mae Reel, and Judy A. Reel, both of Petersburg; nine sons, Eddie R. Reel, Petersburg, Randy B. Reel, of New Windsor, Gary "Pop" Reel, of Petersburg, James A. Reel, of Maysville, W.Va., David E. Reel, of Maysville, Vernon A. Reel, Cabins, W.Va., Roger L. Reel, of Petersburg, Larry J. Keplinger, of Columbus, Ga., and Paul W. Keplinger, of Tearcoat Road, Arthur, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Schaeffer Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the Faith Assembly of God Church, Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Lomasney and the Rev. Paul Donaldson, officiating.

Burial will be at South Branch Memorial Gardens, Petersburg.

Military graveside service will be conducted by the Veteran Organizations of Grant County.

KEYSER, W.Va. ‹ Diane Sue (Armentrout) Rhodes, 48, of 410 Fountainhead Drive, Keyser, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, after a 19-month battle with cancer.

Born on Feb. 15, 1952, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of Dora J. (Ratcliff) Armentrout of Petersburg, and the late Norman S. Armentrout. She also was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Noah and Laura Ratcliff, and her paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Sam and Leota Kesner.

Mrs. Rhodes was employed most recently as a manager at Sheetz Convenience Store in Keyser. She was formerly employed with Stewart's Grocery and Martin's Food Store. She was a 1970 graduate of Petersburg High School and attended Potomac State College. She was a member of the Sunnyside Church of the Brethren, New Creek.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Leonard T. Rhodes; two daughters, Sherry D. Rhodes, Keyser, and Summer L. Rhodes, at home; one son, Mark T. Rhodes and fiancee Amy Clark, at home; and one brother, Larry D. Armentrout, Petersburg.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Sunnyside Church of the Brethren on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ed Weaver officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

BISMARCK, W.Va. — Rachel Violet Rippey, 87, of Bismarck, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg. Born on Feb. 21, 1915, in Bismarck, she was the daughter of the late Millard Cosner and Stella (Moreland) Cosner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Carl Rippey in 1944; daughter, Eleanor Wykle; son, Gene Rippey; two sisters, Milla Likens and Beulah Kitzmiller; and two brothers, infant Lorenzo Cosner and Marvin Cosner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Rippey was a member of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren. She was employed at the Mt. Storm Lodge for several years and more recently the Grant County Commission on Aging. She had been a resident of the Grant County Nursing Home since May 2000. Surviving are three sons, Ralph Rippey and wife Joan of Delran, N.J., Robert Rippey and wife Marianna of Vienna, Va., and Wayne Rippey and wife Jane of Keyser; one daughter, Linda Yokum and husband Harlan of Morgantown; son-in-law, Charles Wykle of Asheville, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Iris Jean Rippey of Lexington, S.C.; sister-in-law, Annie Evans of Kents Store, Va.; brother-in-law, Greeley Rippey of Greeley, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Walker officiating. Friends will be received at the church one-hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Cosner-Likens Family Cemetery, Bismarck.

BLOOMINGTON ‹ Eddie Lee Rogers, Jr., 15, of 49 Savage River Road, Bloomington, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at his residence.

Born February 1984, in Oakland, he was the son of Eddie Lee Rogers, Sr., of Petersburg, W.Va., and Libby Holstein and Eugene Liller, of Bloomington.

Eddie was a freshman at Westmar High School, where he was a member of the J.V. Basketball squad.

In addition to his parents, and step-father, he is survived by two sisters, Brandy Holstein and Amanda Holstein, both of Bloomington; grandparents, Gloria and Gene Holstein, of Mt. Storm, W.Va., and Pat Parker, of Ohio; and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, W.Va., on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Nelson and the Rev. Joseph Jarrett, officiating.

Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery.

BURLINGTON, W.Va. -- Audrey V. Rohrbaugh, 76, of Route 1, Box 143, Burlington, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born on July 1, 1924, in Antioch, she was a daughter of the late William Snowden and Sylvia Alice (Roberts) Cannon. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas James Rohrbaugh; three brothers, Carl, Otto and Harry Cannon; and two sisters, Myrtle Cannon and Bertie Staggs.

Mrs. Rohrbaugh was a homemaker and a member of the Harness Run Church of the Brethren, Burlington.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Emmett E. Rohrbaugh; two sons, Raymond E. Rohrbaugh and wife JoAnn, Burlington, and Melvin E. Rohrbaugh and wife Connie, Burlington; three daughters, Frances L. Dolly and husband George, New Creek, Nancy M. Champ and husband Carl, Old Fields, and Faye A. Wilson, Romney; two brothers, Oscar Cannon and wife Sharon, Keyser, and Robert Cannon and wife Madeline, Burlington; one sister, Leila Kesner, Burlington; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Samuel Hugh "Sam" Rodgers, 57, Falls Church, Va, and formerly of Petersburg, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Rodgers was born Sept. 18, 1943, in Petersburg and was a son of Ethel V. Pratt Rodgers Sherman of Moorefield and the late Edwin N. Rodgers.

He moved to Washington, DC, area in the late 1950s and began his business, Rodgers Wall Covering, in Falls Church, VA.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Tina Renee Rodgers, Waldorf, MD; four sisters, Patricia Slifer, Spavinaw, OK, Laura Kemp and Mary Hedrick, both of Maysville and Martha Alt, Upper Tract; seven brothers, Dallas Rodgers, Washington, DC, Clayton Rodgers, Arthur, Forrest Rodgers, Upper Tract, Robert Rodgers, Baltimore, MD, Richard Rodgers, Petersburg, Dawn Rodgers, Moorefield and Douglas Rodgers, Augusta; a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Forrest G. Rodgers conducted the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at the Schaeffer Fuernal Home in Petersburg. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.

Ruth Mae Heavner Reed, 74, Lahmansville, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, where she had lived for 11 years.

Mrs. Reed was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Lahmansville and was a daughter of the late Arnold and Sylvia Turner Heavner.

She was a member of the Falls Assembly of God Church and the Petersburg Church of God.

Her husband, Edgar Parker Reed, died Dec. 4, 1979.

She is survived by a son, Paul J. Reed, Burlington; a step-son, Robert Reed, Cabins; five daughters, Josephine Rohrbaugh, Maysville, Mary L. Powell, Frederick, MD, Margie Saville, Kirby, June D. Huffman, Seneca Rocks and Linda K. Ours, Cabins, two sisters, Retta Dolly, Lahmansville, and Joy Keplinger, Arthur; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and eigh great-grandchildren.

The Revs. Steve Landis and Vivan Watts conducted the funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial was at the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.

L. Lyle Rohrbaugh, 62, of Maysville, died Saturday, June 07 1997, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.

Born July 30, 1934, at Maysville, he was the son of Clellie Marie (Stonestreet) Rohrbaugh of Petersburg and the late Lester Robert Rohrbaugh. He was also preceded in death my one son, Leslie L. Rohrbaugh November 15, 1992.

Mr. Rohrbaugh had been a resident at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, since August 08, 1995. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 1024, Cumberland, Maryland. He attended Falls Assembly of God Church, Maysville.

Surviving are his wife, Myriene Delorse (Kelley) Rohrbaugh; one son, Bradley Alan Rohrbaugh of Burlington; two daughters, Cathy Elaine Rohrbaugh of Petersburg and Teresa Renee Kessel of Maysville, four sisters, Pauline Reel of Dorcas, Reva Reel of El Paso, Texas, Freeda Curtis of Floral City, Florida, Hilda Perry of Springboro, Ohio and Amy Shafer of Albuquerque, N.M.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services are today, Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with the Rev. Luther Travis officiating. Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery at Lahmansville.

Bertha Alice Redman, 69, Petersburg, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at her residence.

Mrs. Redman was born April 16, 1932, in Petersburg to the late Ott and Ada Ellen Cook Beckwith.

She worked for the Head Start Program in Petersburg, from 1970 to 1976.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Randolph Edward Minor, in 1953, and Lawrence Leon Redman, in 1984.

She is survived by her children, Randolph Phillip "Duke" Minor adn wife, Jamie Hall; Darla Regina White and significant other. Robert Whetzel and Larence Deon Redman and wfe, Shannon, all of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several "extra kids;" and her other mother, Mrs. Lillian Redman.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Flora Redman, Margaret Price and Rosetta Grandison; and five brothers, Dewy Beckwith, Emmit Gene Beckwimth, Howard Beckwith, Otty Donald Beckwith and William Robert Beckwith.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Calvin Redman and James Redman officiating. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.

Robert Andrew Rader, 55, of Hamilton, Ohio, died Dec. 14, 2000  at his residence.

Born Dec. 21, 1944, in New Creek, he was the son of the late Fred Key and Dympsy (Lahman) Rader.

He is survived by his wife, Norma (Kisamore Rohrbaugh) Rader; two sons, Glen Rader and Steve Rader, both W. Harrison, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Rohrbaugh of Franklin; one stepson, Eric Rohrbaugh of Lahmansville; two sisters, Pat Wright and Linda Gillman, both of Harrison; two half brothers, Charles Rader of Keyser and Glen Marshall of Fairmont; one granddaughter, Megan; and three stepgrandchildren, David, Courtney and Amberly.

Funeral services were Dec. 17, at the Basagic Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.

Mrs. Vauda Edith Rexrode, 60, of Mount Jackson, Va., died Dec. 10, 2000  at her home.

Born Aug. 13, 1940, at Mount Storm, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Ellen (Chapman) Cosner.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon Leo Rexrode, whom she married Nov. 4, 1960; one son, Jeffrey Rexrode of Broadway; one brother, Wilson Cosner of McGaheysville, Va.; four sisters, Verda Brown of Stanley, Va., Thelma Lewis and Naomi Keeler, both of Timberville, Va., and Leona Osborne of Broadway; and four grandchildren.

Prayer services were Dec. 12, at the Theis Funeral Chapel, New Market, Va., with interment Dec. 13, in the Alkire Cemetery, Mount Storm.

Vernon Earl "Jimmy" Rohrbaugh, 85, of Maysville, died Nov. 21, 2000  at the E.A. Hawse Continuous Care Center, Baker, where he had resided since Dec. 20, 1999.

Born Feb. 23, 1915, in Jordan Run, he was the son of the late Henry Edward and Essie Virginia "Virgie" (Hawk) Rohrbaugh. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel V. (Amtower) Rohrbaugh, July 28.

He is survived by two daughters, Diane Goldizen of Maysville and Louise Carrigan of Annandale, Va.; two sons, Galen Rohrbaugh of Oakland, Md. and Harold Rohrbaugh of Falls Church, Va.; three sisters, Iona Cook of Maysville, Vuelta Aronhalt of Elk Garden and Lila Perticone of Forest Hill, Md.; five grandsons, David Rohrbaugh, Allen Rohrbaugh, Galen Rohrbaugh Jr., Scott Rohrbaugh and Robbie Goldizen; one foster grandson, Shawn Rohrbaugh; four granddaughters, Gail Shope, Cheryl Rohrbaugh, Dana Carrigan and Kimberly Goldizen; and 11 great-grandchildren, Jeremy Rohrbaugh, Michael Rohrbaugh, Chris Rohrbaugh, Brandon Rohrbaugh, Matthew Rohrbaugh, Nick Rohrbaugh, Jason Rohrbaugh, Natalie Rohrbaugh, Kayla Sharkey, Martin Turner and Jordan Rohrbaugh.

Funeral services were Nov. 25, at the Jordan Run Union Church, with interment in South Branch Memorial Gardens, Petersburg.

Oscar Eugene Riggleman Sr., 62, of Haymarket, Va., died Nov. 24, 2000  at the Prince William Hospital, Manassas, Va.

Born Aug. 5, 1938, in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Oscar Dayton Riggleman and Leora (Landis) Riggleman Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Mallie B. Riggleman; two daughters, Scarlet Van Deman and Dawn Smith, both of Gainesville, Va.; two sons, Buddy Riggleman and Junior Riggleman, both of Haymarket; two sisters, Mary Ann Williams of Lovettesville, Va. and Martha Alice Sites of Stephens City, Va.; two brothers, Denver Riggleman and J.D. Riggleman, both of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 27, at the Moser Funeral Home chapel, Warrenton, Va., with interment in Middleburg Memorial Cemetery, Middleburg, Va.

Lucele Rebecca Reynolds, 70, of Hagerstown, Md., died Nov. 12, 2000, at the Reeder Memorial Home, Boonsboro, Md.

Born April 9, 1930, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Florence (Wise) Stone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt T. Reynolds.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Edwards of Hagerstown; one son, Steven A. Stone of Winchester, Va.; one stepson, Velton Reynolds of Baltimore; one sister, Florence Loretta Lewis of Frederick, Md.; two brothers, James Edward Stone and Joseph W. Stone, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Nov. 16, at the Calvary Temple Apostolic, Hagerstown, interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, Md.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown.

Hazel Lake Rhodes 88, a resident of the Allegany County Nursing home, Cumberland, formerly of Antioch, died September 04, 1993, at the nursing home.

She was born November 16, 1904, at Antioch, a daughter of the late L. J. and Nannie (Martin) Mott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Rhodes, October 15, 1966.

Mrs. Rhodes was formerly employed with the Keyser Garment factory, and was a member of the Sunnyside Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are three sons, Bruce Rhodes, Putney, GA, Ronald Rhodes, Hope Mills, NC, and Gary Rhodes, Maysville, WV; three daughters, Joan Golas, Keyser, Georgia Patchett, Maysville and Rose Mary Langford, Imperial Beach, California; one sister, Edna L. Mott, Heartland of Keyser Nursing home, Keyser; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, WV

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Olimpio Lopez officiating.

Interment will be in the Thrush Cemetery, Antioch. WV

Hildred O. (Merritt) Reed, 71 of HC 75, box 127, New Creek (Grant County) died Sunday June 21, 1998, at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.

Born September 26. 1926 in Points, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Calvert and Etta Hott Merritt.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Bernie Reed on March 06, 1987; one brother and one sister. 

Mrs. Reed was a homemaker.

Surviving are three daughters, Cornelia Reed Vance and Karen Reed Davis, both of Maysville, WV and Dona Bennett, Seneca Rocks, WV; three sons, Haven Reed, New Creek, Dana Reed, Cabins, WV and Gale Merritt, New Creek; two sisters, Doris Eye and Gyneth Raines, both of Romney WV; two brothers, Cavert Shull Merritt, Cabins and Clark Merritt, Leesville, LA; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be at the Basagic Funeral Home Chapel, Petersburg, WV on Thursday, June 25 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Landis officiating.

Interment will be in Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV

Friends will be received today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beulah M. Ray, 68,of Rt. 6 box 6146, Keyser, WV, died Tuesday, November 30, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born July 09, 1931, in Williamsport, WV, she was a daughter of the late Daniel A. and Ida Mae (Hyde) Smith.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, James F. and Kenneth L. Ray.

Mrs. Ray was a homemaker and attended the Keymont Gospel Center.

Surviving are her husband, Frank A. Ray; two sons, Daniel A. Ray and wife Carol E. Ray, Piedmont, WV, Gary W. Ray and fiancée, Mindy Cheshire, Keyser, WV; one daughter, Sandra Lee Ray, Keyser; two brothers, Lloyd Smith and Milford Smith both of Martin, WV, two sisters, Martha Pyles, New Creek, WV and Leatha NcNemar, Keyser; and five grandchildren.

Dovie C. Rohrbaugh, 91 of Antioch, died Friday July 21, 1995 at her home. 

Born September 01, 1903, at Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Olie and Belle (Shobe) Rohrbaugh.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor A. Rohrbaugh, July 13, 1977; an infant son, Victor Rohrbaugh Jr; three sons, Olen, Minor and Tracy Rohrbaugh who died in World War II, one daughter Kathleen Feaster; one infant granddaughter, one infant Great-great granddaughter, Clara Nicole Iman; two sisters, Goldie Rohrbaugh and Emma Whetzel; three brothers, Lee Rohrbaugh, Jesse Rohrbaugh and Bud Rohrbaugh.

Mrs. Rohrbaugh was a member of the Knobley Church of the Brethren and a Gold Star Mother.  

She is survived by one son, Harold D. Rohrbaugh of Maysville; four daughters, Mary Mongold of Petersburg, Ruby Smootz of Antioch, Dolly Caldwell of St. Petersburg, Florida and Sally Crabbe of Inwood; two brothers, Lester Rohrbaugh of Lahmansville and Herman Rohrbaugh of Baltimore, Maryland; 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Knobley Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Roger Leatherman and the Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.  Interment was in the Knobley Cemetery, Antioch.

Memorials may be made to the Knobley Church of the Brethren or the Knobley Cemetery.

James M. K. Reid Jr., 87 of Petersburg, died Saturday, November 15,1998 at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.

Born December 05, 1915, in Romney, he was the son of the late James M. K. Reid Sr. and Alice (Keller) Reid.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lee (Hull) Reid, on January 19, 1989, and one brother, George A. Reid.

Mr. Reid was a graduate of Shepherd College, Shepherdstown.  He was assistant administrator of Grant Memorial Hospital until his retirement in December 1982.  He was an elder of Petersburg Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of Petersburg Lodge No. 145 AF 7AM.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by one son, James M. K. Reid III, and wife Patricia, of Dumfries, Virginia; one brother; John Keller Reid of Petersburg; one sister, Agnes Strawderman of Petersburg; one grandson, James M. K. Reid IV and wife Kimberly, of Bristow, Virginia; two nephews, Thomas Reid Strawderman of Charleston and George A Reid Jr., of Sarasota, Florida; and one niece, Mary Ann Reid of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Funeral services are Wednesday, at 7 p.m. at Petersburg Presbyterian Church, with the Revs Donald G. Scofield Jr. and Robert Field officiating.  Interment will be private in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.

Memorials may be made to Petersburg Presbyterian Church, Grant Memorial Hospital or Lahmansville Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the directions of Schaeffer Funeral home, Petersburg.

Mrs. Clellie Marie Rohrbaugh, 89, of Maysville died Wednesday, December 03, 1997 at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, where she had resided since June 01, 1994.

Born January 31,1908, in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Calvin M. Stonestreet and Minnie (Haslacker) Stonestreet.  She was preceded in death my her husband, Lester R. Rohrbaugh, March 17, 1985; one son, Lester Lyle Rohrbaugh; two brothers, Blair Stonesteet and Leonard Stonestreet; two sisters, Mabel McAvoy and Margielee See; one grandson, Leslie L. Rohrbaugh.  She was the last member of her immediate family. 

She is survived by five daughters, Pauline B. Reel of Dorcas, Reva G. Reel of El Paso, Texas, Freeda R. Curtis of Flora City, Florida, Hilda Perry of Springboro, Ohio and Amy Shafer of Albuquerque, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Sunday Afternoon at Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with the Rev. Luther Travis officiating. Interment was in Maysville Cemetery, Maysville.

Memorials may be made to Maysville Volunteer Fire Company or Grant County Nursing Home.

Alva Frank. Rotruck, 86, of 594 South Main Street, died this morning February 08, 1972 at Potomac Valley Hospital.

Born at Martin, he was the son of the late Jacob and Malinda (Cooper) Rotruck. 

Mr. Rotruck, a retired carman for the B&O Railroad Co., was a member of the Keyser Church of the Brethren; Senior Citizens, and the B. R. C. of A.

A son, Lynn H. Roderick of Dover, Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Davis of Keyser, Mrs. Bessie Walls of Fairmont, and Mrs. Frona Rotruck of Toledo, Ohio; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive him.

Friends will be received after 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Rotruck Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday; interment will be in Knobley Cemetery.

Carol Sue Rohrbaugh, 39 formerly of Mt. Storm, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997 at Dennett Road Manor, Oakland, Maryland.  She had been in failing health the past four years. 

Born August 04, 1957, at Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Melvin E. Cosner, January 20, 1992 and Dora E. (Borror) Cosner, September 16, 1966.

Surviving are her husband, Michael G. Rohrbaugh of Dayton Virginia; two sons, Jeff Vandevander of Morgantown and Adam M. Rohrbaugh of Dayton; one daughter, Brandi Nicole Rohrbaugh of Dayton, one brother, Merle E. Cosner of Timberville, Virginia; and two sisters, Phyllis Amos of Harrisonburg, Virginia and Jeanie Wimer of Greenwood, SC.

F uneral services were Saturday afternoon at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with the Rev. Robert J. Klier officiating.  Interment was in Scherr-Idleman Cemetery at Scherr.

Mrs Lottie Rexrode, 87, Arthur, died Wednesday, June 10 , 1981, in Grant Memorial Hospital.
  A native of Grant County, she was a daughter of the late Christopher and Martha (Martin) Burgess.  Her husband died in 1972.
  Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Edna Turner, Petersburg; Mrs Bessie Kimble and Mrs Beulah Forte, both of Maysville; and Mrs Delores Wehner, Baltimore; two sons, Lloyd Rexrode, Fairfax, Va and Olie Rexrode, El Paso, Tx; a brother, Charles Burgess, Maysville; two sisters, Mrs Lucy Crites, Dorcas and Mrs Otie Smith, Maysville; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
  Services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Arnold Funeral Home with the Rev James Heckman officiating.  Interment was in South Branch Gardens.    The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorials to the Cancer Fund.

Jim Judy Reel, 54, of Route 5, Winchester, VA, died Monday, March 12, at his resident.

Mr. Reel was born May 27, 1924 in Dorcas, a son of the late Thomas B. and Erma B. Judy Reel. He was a retired truck driver for Allegheny Freight Line and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Dorcas Baptist Church, the American Legion, the Moose and Teamsters #29.

Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Alice Porter, whom he married August 17, 1946 in Winchester, VA, one son, George O. Reel of Middletown, VA, three daughters, Ms. Sandra K. Reel of Front Royal, VA, Ms. Cynthia A. Reel of Winchester, VA and Ms. Janet R. Reel, at home; one grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Frieda Propst of Mineral, VA, Mrs. Virginia A. Ewing of Newark, DE, Mrs. Dixie B. Halsey of Fair Hill, MD and Mrs. Edna N. Evans of Winchester, VA; two brothers, Chopher B. Reel of Newark, DE and Bobby K. Reel of Starks. LA.

A funeral service was conducted Wednesday, March 14, 1979, at the Omps Funeral Home, Winchester, VA with Dr. James E. Guthrie officiating. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, VA.

Eva N. “Nicky” Rendina, 42, of Upper Tract, died Saturday, April 18, 1992, at the Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.

Born December 10, 1949, in Keyser, she was the daughter of Lucille (Lyons) Lyons, Upper Tract and the late Samuel E. Lyons.

Mrs. Rendina was a nursing assistant for Res-Care, Franklin, She was a graduate of Fairfax High School, Fairfax, VA; a member of Bon Air Baptist Church, Arlington, VA; Ladies Auxiliary Post 9274 VFW, Falls Church, VA; and extension homemakers, Upper Tract.

Besides her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Michelle M. Anderson, Hollywood, MD; two sisters, Patti Anderson, Hollywood and Melissa Mae Lyons, Annandale, VA; two nephews, Andy Anderson and Lee Payne; and one niece, Jennifer Anderson.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rotruck Funeral Home, Keyser, Tuesday (today) at 1pm, with the Rev. Don Flanigan officiating. Interment will be at Queen’s Point Cemetery.

Preston Garland Riggleman, 86, of the Deer Run section of Franklin, died Wednesday, September 16, 1992, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg, following a five year bout with cancer.

Born January 9, 1906, in Deer Run, he was the son of the late Seymour W. Riggleman and Phoebe Jane Hevener.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and one niece, Carol Ann Calhoun.

Mr. Riggleman was Protestant by faith. He was a self-employed and retired sawyer and farmer.

Surviving are three sisters, Nora Day, Derwood, MD, Chloe Calhoun and Audrey Ours, Petersburg; one niece and five nephews; and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Interment was in the Kline Cemetery, Upper Tract.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Rose (Sites) Russell, 58, of Winchester, VA, formerly of Dorcas, died Sunday, February 18, 1990 as the result of a fire at her home.

Born July 8, 1931 in Dorcas, she was a daughter of Grace Elizabeth (Vance) Sites, Winchester, and the late Ray A. Sites. Her husband, Justin J. Russell Jr. was a victim of the same fire. She was also preceded in death by two nephews, Gary Sites and Clayton Martin Jr.

Mrs. Russell was a secretary and bookkeeper.

She is survived by three sons, Jay Mark Russell, Daryl Ray Russell, Christopher Russell, all of Winchester; five sisters, Viola McUlty, Arlington, VA, Bonnie Martin, Arvella Combs, Janet Carlyle, all three of Winchester, Mary Thorne, Petersburg; three brothers, John T. Sites, Dorcas, Norman Sites and Dorse Sites, both of Winchester; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow (Wednesday). Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home, Winchester.
