FAQ's
When does the season start?
Generally the season usually starts about the second week of March. Practice starts around the first or second week of February with weather permiting.

How Long is Practice? How often per week?
Practice is usually close to 2 hours long maybe give or take 15 minutes. We usually practice on Mondays, Wedensdays, and Fridays until the games start, then it's Mondays, and Wedensday's.

Can I work while I play Rugby?
Yes you can work while you play Rugby. Just request Monday's, Wedensday's, and Friday's off during Rugby season. Games scheduled on other days such as Tuesday's, Thursday's, Saturday's, and Sunday's we should know ahead of time for you to request off.

How many Games do we have a season?
That all depends on the season. In 2003 we only had 9 games due to the league tournament being cancelled. If you make the State Tournament, Midwests, or Nationals you will have more games then other teams. We usually average 11 - 13 games per year.

How are the teams ranked?
Each year you play 4 or 5 regular season games. Depending on how you finish will depend on if your team makes the State tournament or not. The teams that play for the State title in the championship will go to midwests automatically. Other teams have chances to qualify. The 2 teams that play for the championship of midwests go on to play for the High School Rugby National Title.

How much does it cost to play?
To play Rugby for Grove City it costs a total of $120.00 dollars for first year players. $50.00 is for the league fee, $50.00 is for your jersey (which you get to keep), and $20.00 is for you shorts, and socks (which you also get to keep). If you are a returning player and you allready have your uniform then you only need to pay the $50.00 league fee.

How old do you have to be?
The age requrment is under the age of 20. You must be 19 or younger and must be enrolled in High School, Home School, or some kind of vocational school (such as life skills for example).

Is it worth it?

I will tell you that after being a player of 3 years, and a captain last year during my senior year I would not of traded any of the sports I have played all my life for the 3 years I had playing Rugby at Grove City. Yes, it costs money, is hard work, and got frustrating during times that the team was struggling. BUT, I had the most fun of my life. Take my word, and I speak on behalf of all the former players when I say IT's Defanently Worth It!!
