| A Prayer for Lawyers and Judges by Father Francis Lechiara, V.E. Almighty and eternal God, you have revealed your glory to all nations. God of power and might, enacted, and judgment is decreed. Assist with your Spirit of Counsel and Fortitude all lawyers and judges, that their professional lives may be conducted in righteousness and be eminently useful to your people with whom they deal. May they encourage due respect for virtue and religion. May they execute laws with justice and mercy. May the light of your divine wisdom shine forth in all their proceedings and in the laws framed for our rule and government. May they seek to preserve peace, promote communal happiness and continue to bring us the blessings of liberty and justice. May they be blessed in the knowledge and sanctified in the observance of your holy law. By your powerful protection enable all lawyers and judges to discharge their duties and with honesty and ability. Father in heaven, please hear and answer this prayer which we humbly ask in the name of your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. |
