Geauga YMCA Adventure Guides Welcome You!

How many times have you promised to do something with your child and something else came up? The YMCA Adventure Guide programs help ensure that your child is part of your busy schedule by participating in fun activities TOGETHER!

KIDS AND PARENTS HAVE FUN!

We build programs for Fathers/Sons, Fathers/Daughters, Mothers/Sons, Mothers/Daughters--everyone! Parents are Guides. The younger children (K-6)/ parent pairs are Explorers. Older children may particpate in our Trail program.

One Hour Meetings Once a Month
Share stories, songs, games and crafts with your Circle. Circle meetings are held in a Circle member's home. Circles are teams consisting of up to 10 parents and their children.

Expedition Activities Every Month
Members also participate in monthly activities sponsored by the Geauga Expedition. Activities include: canoeing, Halloween party, Christmas carnival, and a riveting Pinewood Derby. Each Circle appoints a representative to help plan activities at the Expedition's rip-roaring monthly "Base Camp" meeting.

Three Campouts a Year
Sleep on bunk beds inside cabins and eat Y prepared meals at friendly YMCA campgrounds. These arrangements allow you to spend more time with your child. Horseback riding, archery, canoeing, swimming, climbing tower, hiking, fishing, and sledding are just a few of the things you can do with your child to help them grow in knowledge and self-esteem.

NOW IS THE TIME
Simply spending time with your child shows them how important they are. Take the time now before tomorrow becomes yesterday. Be a part of your child's experiences. Create memories with your child that will last a lifetime for both of you!
