Ann Brown's "To Dad"
© 2004 Ann Brown
The echoes sound much louder
Of The voices from the past
As I begin to remember
Times that could not last

The clock is forever ticking
And time in memories are made
Forever is a lifetime
Daylight begins to fade
Shadows dancing around us
Like pictures from the past

Darkness creeps upon us
Suddenly Like a winter chill
Life runs fast before us
Like rolling down a hill

Too much left to say and do
Too much left undone
So little time to make things right
The spoken words are gone

Many things forgotten
In life’s eternal race
The dawn begins to settle
On your past embrace

If I could have had one more day
I would tell you it was alright
Your time on earth was nearly done
That heaven was in sight
Mum would wait with open arms
As you travel to the light

Go with all my blessings
Take your well earned rest
Walk amongst the Angels
Go, be with the best.
