Ann Brown's "Sitting in my Room at Night"
© March 2004 Ann Brown
Sitting in my room at night
Allowing my thoughts to stray
Thinking how to put things right
Was there something I could say?
I shouldn't have said it
I know that now
I could have written a letter
But I didn't really mean to hurt you
I'm sure you know me better
Sometimes it all comes comes out so wrong
I hardly know where to start
It would probably sound better in a song
Words from within my heart
I should have said "I love you"
Instead I walked away
I could have given you another chance
And asked if you would stay
Instead I sit here all alone
in my darkened room
Feeling lonely, misery
Despondancy and gloom.
